SC Ermelo: Everest leads class Z
The Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition Dressage kicked off this evening with the Z class. Four participants competed, and Everest, a son of Especial, achieved the highest score of 82.5 points.
The Z/ZZ-L/LT class was judged by Floor Dröge, Emmelie Scholtens, and Bettine van Harselaar. With 82.5 points, Everest (Especial out of Fresia ster pref prest PROK D-OC by Negro, bred by Van Olst Horses from Den Hout) claimed victory under Charlotte Fry, with his trot standing out, earning a score of 8.8. Bettine van Harselaar explained: “The trot demonstrates a lot of technique, maintaining rhythm and precision in lateral movements. The canter is strong with good impulsion, and he performs the flying changes well. The stallion has great energy and eagerness, which can occasionally create tension, but he is undoubtedly a very talented and appealing stallion.”
New Dreams
New Dreams (Jerveaux out of Jillz ster by Dream Boy, bred by T.J.M. Coomans from Oud-Beijerland and I. Verheul from Apeldoorn) and Adelinde Cornelissen finished second with 81.4 points, with their walk particularly standing out. “The walk was well-executed, displaying rhythm and ample scope. This rhythm also carried through into the collected walk. The trot presents a light and supple picture with excellent freedom of movement. The canter shows good elevation, but overall, the horse could exhibit more strength from the hindquarters and flexion in the hind legs. It was a tidy test with an elegant, composed image.”
Charming Network
With scores of 8.3 for both the walk and trot, Network (Just Wimphof out of Keyveniz Texel, stb-ext, pref, D-OC by Negro, bred by D. Staller and D. Broekema from Westbeemster) took third place under Femke de Laat, earning 80.5 points. “The walk is spacious and rhythmically pure. The trot shows good impulsion with rhythm and balance. The canter features a good jump, strong leg technique, and balance. Overall, the horse could display more adjustability and a lighter connection, but Network is a horse with a very endearing and willing demeanor.”
