14 dressage stallions of the 2024 generation present themselves positively
On the Friday afternoon of the KWPN Stallion Show, the approved dressage stallions of the R-generation, which were approved in 2024, presented themselves well. Floor Dröge and Bart Bax hosted the presentation, during which the stallions showed positive development since their performance test.
The stallions entered the arena in pairs, with a switch after each round to ensure they were not left alone in the impressive ring. First up was the grey Ridgedale (Glamourdale out of Zakiyah KEUR, PREF, PREST by Jazz, breeder D.M.L. Stoop-Collombon) ridden by Zandra Birkeland, owner Van Olst Horses. The stallion was slightly tense in the surroundings but consistently moved with good technique. Secret-son Secret USB from J.M. van Uytert and Stal Brouwer (bred from Soiree Noir by Spörken, breeder Gaus) was presented by Alvaro Rodriguez Siscar and demonstrated great suppleness and looseness in his body. The stallion could already easily switch gaits.
Willing Roebel
The black stallion Roebel (Romanov out of Forsytha BH star pref PROK by Sir Donnerhall I, breeder M. Miltenburg) stood out under Kim Noordijk for his strong work ethic. The stallion from E. Schep moved through the arena with his ears forward and has a beautiful model. Charlotte Fry presented the dark bay Real Dream (Dynamic Dream out of Fivanny star PROK preliminary keur by Negro, breeder Maatschap Pleyter and VanTriest). The Van Olst Horses stallion was praised by Bart Bax for showing more appreciation under saddle than in free movement. “Especially his canter already shows a high level of closure.”
Rock and Roll
Rom Vermunt’s Rock and Roll (Bordeaux out of Jade – Sarina star IBOP-dres PROK by Wynton, breeder G.B.J. Lansink) was presented by young rider Micky Schelstraete, who easily guided the stallion around the arena. Bax said: “This stallion moves easily, but he could have stayed a little more closed today. In canter, he shows an easy lengthening.” The elegant black stallion Radetsky H (Lennox US out of Verona star pref IBOP-dres by Negro, breeder Hamers) was ridden by co-owner Hilde Sanders (in ownership with Stal Leeuwenhof) and moved powerfully and in good rhythm through the arena.
Royal Dynamic
Royal Dynamic (Dynamic Dream out of Rudilore Victoria by Vitalis, breeder A.S. Sargent) from owners J&J Invest is a royally developed stallion. Presented by Alvaro Rodriguez Siscar, he moved confidently from the first round, showing great balance and technique, and Bax praised his rideability. Last year’s KSS auction topper, Rayano (Glamourdale out of Kalista elite IBOP-dres by Cum Laude, breeder H. Verthriest), was presented by his new owner Kim van der Muren-Hirdes. This long-lined stallion displayed excellent quality, particularly in canter, along with easy tempo changes.
KSS Stallion
Ribéry VDT (Don Juan de Hus out of Velvet VDT elite pref prest by Ferro, breeder A. van de Tillaart) also came into the hands of his new owners, the Röst family, via the KSS auction. Presented by Cynthia Eggenkamp, the stallion showed himself balanced. Bax commented: “This horse always moves from back to front. He is always active and has good technique. A very positive and rideable horse.” Kjento-son Renzo (out of Aronia elite PROK IBOP-dres prest pref by Rousseau, breeder C.M.E. Reijerink) from Van Olst Horses has much presence and elegance. Under Zandra Birkeland, the stallion moved easily in rhythm, beautifully forward. “This stallion is easy to work with and comes smoothly back on the hind leg,” said Bax.
Beautiful silhouette
Bart Veeze presented Ferguson-son Ritmo De La Noche (out of Hasara-Maria M elite sport-dres by Bretton Woods, breeder and owner R.M. Vermunt, Stal Rom Vermunt and the Brunier family). The stallion was somewhat impressed by the surroundings, something he did not show during the performance test, according to Bax. He demonstrated an easy trot and canter, showing great balance. Ready to Venture (Jameson RS2 out of Khitney-Divette elite IBOP-dres by Jazz, breeder R.W.F.M. Oosterbosch) was presented by Kim Noordijk in a beautiful silhouette. The stallion from C. van Heukelen has a nice front, excellent forelimb technique, and moved beautifully toward the hand.
Diligent way of moving
The brown Rome USB (Vaderland out of Halina star preliminary keur PROK by Zambuka, breeder S.D.M. Beckers), ridden by Alvaro Rodriguez Siscar, showed a diligent and hardworking movement style. Rome USB (owned by Stal Brouwer and J.M. van Uytert) has a long neck and much suppleness and looseness. Finally, the large chestnut Roderico entered the arena (Ibiza out of J’Adore elite sport-dres IBOP-dres PROK by Apache, breeder/owner M. van Grinsven, co-registered P.J.F. Wetzelaer, P. Kuypers, L. Bos). This royally developed stallion was ridden by Zandra Birkeland and has grown in strength since the performance test, according to Bax. “He works well from back to front and has a beautiful uphill tendency.”
