The four-year-old Royal-Star M jumped a course under Esther Blekkink during the second round viewing and has been given the opportunity by the stallion inspection committee to prove himself in the performance test.

Just like last year, only one stallion was selected under saddle for the performance test. "At KWPN, we hope this option will be utilized more often in the future, as it allows us to select even closer to our breeding goals," explained committee chairman Wout-Jan van der Schans.

Light-footed and rideable
The four-year-old Royal-Star M (Poker de Mariposa TN out of Hannie ster by Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve, bred by G.B.M. Berendsen from Etten) and owned by M.J.W. ten Have from Ulft received his invitation for the performance test through this route. He jumped two small courses, just as he did in Ermelo. "The atmosphere here is a bit more impressive than during the first round viewing. Royal-Star M still appears somewhat green, but since he can immediately participate in the spring performance test, we are happy to give him this opportunity. He has a light-footed canter, is easy to ride, and shows a somewhat inconsistent front-leg technique." His grandmother, Silverdance, has already produced two 1.60m showjumpers: Chambery (by Berlin) ridden by Roland Englbrecht and Fearless (by Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve) ridden by Abdulrahman Alrajhi.
