This weekend was an absolute delight at Jumping Amsterdam, both in terms of the incredible top sport on display and the unique Amsterdam atmosphere. The KWPN Select Sale references also made a strong impression. We spoke with auctioneer Frederik de Backer in the lead-up to this week’s KWPN Select Sale.

This Thursday, 16 showjumping stallions from the KWPN Select Sale will go under the hammer of Frederik de Backer, followed by 21 selected dressage stallions on Saturday. “There are various presentation moments, and what I really appreciate about KWPN is that so much information is available. You can watch the first viewing in Ermelo, the second viewing, you can see them live and visit the stables. There is a wealth of information available to make an informed decision.” Additionally, all dressage stallions have been recorded during lunging, and these videos are also available online.

Impossible not to be prepared

Top results for KSS references
Under Dinja van Liere, Hartsuijker (by Johnson TN) once again proved to be among the world’s best, finishing fifth in the World Cup Freestyle to Music. Island VG (by Zirocco Blue VDL) and Kim Emmen delivered strong performances, securing fourth and fifth place in the 1.45m, while Marc Houtzager rode Loeca N.D. (by Gino) to a fifth-place finish in his very first 1.50m course.
