Two Gelder stallions advance to Den Bosch
After the dressage stallions, a group of Gelder stallions entered the arena for the first round viewing powered by AJ Bedrijfsdiensten. Out of five stallions, two received the green light to proceed to Den Bosch.
Both Spiedie Jane (s.Abrilon) and Showtime (s.Mexpression) made a strong enough impression on the stallion selection committee to earn their place in the second round viewing. Arie Hamoen, who has taken over as chair of the stallion selection committee from Marloes van der Velden, expressed satisfaction with the results of the first round viewing. “We assessed five stallions, selecting them based on correctness, Gelder type, and ease and suppleness of movement. The stallions were somewhat affected by tension, which impacted their athletic ability. However, the two stallions we selected demonstrated enough convincing qualities, are correctly built, and sufficiently represent the Gelder type,” Hamoen explained. For the first time, the stallions were no longer required to free jump during the first round viewing.
