SC Ermelo: Pina Colada leads the P-generation
The second competition of the Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition Dressage in Ermelo concluded with the new P-generation, which once again impressed with high scores, much like the first round in Kronenberg. Out of eleven participants, nine exceeded 80 points. Bart Veeze dominated the leaderboard, taking the top two spots with his horses.
The judging panel, consisting of Floor Dröge, Emmelie Scholtens, and Bettine van Harselaar, evaluated the final group of the day. Pina Colada (Governor out of Cinola M elite pref IBOP-dres D-OC by Dayano, bred by J. Mol from Diepenheim) claimed victory under Bart Veeze with 84.4 points, with his walk earning a notable 8.8. Bettine van Harselaar explained, “This stallion has a walk with excellent rhythm and ample scope. In the trot, he also shows great scope and moves with light-footedness. The canter presents a beautiful silhouette with good rhythm. While the horse could develop more strength from the hindquarters, it is an elegant stallion with a very appealing and sympathetic presentation.”
Trainable Pride
Bart Veeze also secured second place with Pride (Secret out of Idol elite pref IBOP-dres D-OC by Apache, bred by E.T. ten Bosch from Driel), earning 84.2 points. Pride’s canter stood out with a score of 8.8. “Pride’s walk is functional, with good rhythm and plenty of relaxation throughout the body. In the trot, this horse also shows a lot of looseness, presenting a sympathetic image with good leg technique. The canter demonstrates excellent technique, with scope, jump, and beautiful extensions. While the tempo can occasionally be on the higher side, Pride is a very trainable and responsive horse.”
Taminiau’s son Pablo Picasso
Third place went to Pablo Picasso (Taminiau out of Izzy ster D-OC by Florencio, bred by M.E. Ras and B.A.W. Mensinck from Vierakker) ridden by Ruben Mengual Reig, scoring 83.8 points. “The walk has a good rhythm with sufficient overtrack. The powerful trot shows impulsion and looseness, maintaining balance beautifully in lateral movements. The canter has a strong jump and a powerful hind leg. Although the stallion can occasionally move slightly over tempo, he is an attentive horse with great presence and technique.”
