In the L class, the stallions in the second round were explained by Eric van der Vleuten, who assigned Grand Prix potential to several of them. Twelve stallions remained double clear.

The final class of the Blom Stallion Competition featured many high-quality horses. Nine KWPN-approved stallions stayed clear in both rounds.

A Lot of Potential
Stallion selection committee member Eric van der Vleuten provided feedback on all the stallions, except for Patapsco (by Diamant de Semilly), who participated in the stallion selection program. As in the previous rounds, Pinacolada van Seldsum (Dominator Z out of I-Nabalia SMH ster PROK D-OC by Namelus R, bred by Minne and Esther Hovenga) and Drummer 2000 TN (Diamant de Semilly out of China Touch Hero by Chin Chin, bred by Stud 2000) received excellent comments after their double clear rounds. “Pinacolada again showed that he has everything to develop into a Grand Prix horse. He has a fantastic attitude and canter, and jumps really well with his body. Honestly, I’ve never seen him make a bad jump. Drummer is also a stallion that seems to have it all. For such a big horse, he has a remarkably high level of blood, and he combines that with a lot of power and is very rideable.”

Among the double clear rounds were the powerful Pasquino van de Hagenhorst (Hardrock Z out of Happy Linda elite IBOP-spr sport-spr PROK by Eldorado van de Zeshoek) from breeders Herman Verhagen and Jelke Heida, the very rideable Pagani of the Paddocks (Catoki out of Lewinsky by Corofino I, bred by Anthony Mornie), and the very athletic jumping Porsche SB (Kitt SB out of Legend Power SIH ster EPTM-spr by Vagabond de la Pomme, bred by J. and L. Hiemstra-Bleyie from Drijber). Also noteworthy was the performance of rider Cristel Kalf, who kept all three stallions double clear in this test.

On January 6, the Blom Stallion Competition will be held in Groningen, and the final will take place during the KWPN Stallion Show in Den Bosch.
