After finishing second in Kronenberg, the KWPN-approved stallion New Pleasure VDL left all competitors behind in the Z/ZZ class of the Blom Stallion Competition in IJsselmuiden today.

In the first round of the second competition in the Blom Stallion Competition, twelve stallions started. Four of them qualified for the jump-off at 1.35m level, and five advanced to 1.30m level.

Careful and Efficient
Hessel Hoekstra made optimal use of the canter, commitment, and easy way of jumping of the KWPN-approved stallion New Pleasure VDL (For Pleasure out of Lady-A ter Putte by Diamant de Semilly, bred by Familie De Maertelaere/Stal Van de Zuidakker from Bassevelde) from VDL Stud. With a highly efficient round, the successful duo finished faultlessly in the fastest time. With that, he has once again put an end to his recurring second-place finishes, a position they also occupied last summer in the Van Santvoort Makelaars Cup. In both the first round of the Blom Stallion Competition and the Van Santvoort Makelaars Cup, New Pleasure VDL had to settle for second place behind Night Life VDL (Erco van ’t Roosakker out of Ialba VDL elite IBOP-spr PROK by Arezzo VDL) ridden by Alex Gill. Today, however, the combinationr had the fastest time but encountered one unfortunate fault.

In second place, the KWPN-approved stallion Sambucci de Muze (Hunter’s Scendro out of Malissa de Muze by Vigo d'Arsouilles, bred by Joris de Brabander) from VDL Stud performed strongly. Under Luke Hill, the competitive stallion was just a little slower than New Pleasure VDL and Hessel but still delivered a strong performance.

Consistently Fault-Free
In third place was the KWPN-approved stallion No Mercy (Cape Coral RBF Z out of Saartje keur sport-spr by Now or Never M, bred by Hans Vrijvogel from Den Bosch), who repeatedly jumped faultlessly. Under Tom Martens, he jumped with great power and ease to finish double clear.
