During the KWPN Stallion Competition for Gelder horses, only stallions in the M-level dressage category competed under saddle. Out of the three participants, Odin, a son of Edmundo, claimed victory with a score of 80.8 points. In the driving competition, the top honors went to Odeer (by Atze).

The palomino stallion Odin (Edmundo out of Buonaternel, elite preferent IBOP sport-dressage PROK by Vitens, breeders P.E.M. Herweijer and M.H. Zwaneveld from Assen) impressed the judges, receiving an 8.2 for both his canter and overall impression under rider Dirk Jan van de Water. “The stallion presented a beautiful picture today,” said judge Bettine van Harselaar, who evaluated the dressage tests with Marloes van der Velden. “In walk, he showed good rhythm and scope, maintaining that rhythm in the simple changes. His trot was also impressive, with excellent rhythm, powerful thrust, and expressive foreleg movement. In canter, the stallion transitions smoothly. While he could occasionally engage more from behind, he naturally moves uphill with excellent rhythm."

Ojee-B shows potential
Second place went to Ojee-B, a son of Ibsen B (out of Jorien Tilde, elite IBOP PROK by Rubus B, breeder G.S.W. te Bokkel from Eerbeek), ridden by Anouk Slabbers. He earned a total score of 79.2, with his canter standing out with a 8.5. “This horse has an active walk but could relax more through his body,” said the judges. “His trot displays excellent rhythm, ease, and good use of his body. Ojee-B’s canter is characterized by balance, scope, and the ability to adjust effortlessly. He is very trainable but showed some tension today, which affected his contact. Overall, he is a promising horse."

Olaf Official
Zoë Kuintjes secured third place with Olaf Official (Henkie out of Diamant, ster by Sirius, breeder G.J.W. Roerdinkholder from Winterswijk Kotten) with a score of 77.2. “Olaf Official was a bit tense today, and this showed in his exercises and gaits,” noted the judges. “His walk is correct with good overstep, earning him an 8. His trot is good, and his canter is consistently spacious and rhythmic. While he was affected by tension today, Olaf Official remains a pleasant horse.”

Driving victory for Odeer
In the driving competition, Odeer (Atze out of Zeronica, elite sport-dressage PROK by Talos, bred and owned by Anouk Noordman from Zuidwolde) emerged victorious with Henk Hammers at the reins. The stallion excelled in his expressive trot, which was awarded an 8.5 for the activity in his hindquarters. “The canter was the highlight, earning a 9,” said judge Jaap Boom, who evaluated alongside Marloes van der Velden. Odeer also received a 7 for his active walk and an 8 for overall impression, culminating in a total score of 80.4 points.
