WC for Young Driving Horses: Silver Medal for KWPN Horses Oh La La La SH and Milo V
The World Championship for Young Driving Horses concluded beautifully today in Lamotte Beuvron, France. The German Jessica Wächter became the champion in both the five-year-old and seven-year-old classes, but the French Marion Vignaud also performed excellently, earning a silver medal with her five-year-old KWPN horse, Oh La La La.
Marion is in “a winning mood” as she recently won the silver medal at the World Championship for Single Horses with the KWPN horse First Quality (Gribaldi out of Bamona, stb sport-dressage by United, bred by D.M.M. Vorselaars from Tilburg). Now, she also claimed second place in the five-year-olds with Oh La La La SH (Spielberg out of Kindness, reg. A by Donnerbube I, bred by Mrs. Van Eerden from Winterswijk Corle). Her score from yesterday and today totaled 14.48. With her other contender, Oakley DH (Glock’s Toto Jr. out of Jarisma, star by De Niro, bred by De Dinkel Hoeve from Denekamp), she finished seventh with a score of 14.12. The scores from second to seventh place were very close together. Eighth place went to the Dutch Saskia van Heesch with Onana (Just Wimphof out of Cariba, reg. B by Uptown, bred by the De Groot family from Riel).
Just missed the podium
In the seven-year-old class, there was an honorable silver medal for the Polish Weronika Kwiatek. She guided her KWPN horse Milo V (Raffles out of Inette, vb by Eebert, bred by A.P.C. Veerman from Goudswaard) smoothly through the test, achieving a score of 16.57, just two-tenths less than the number one. Just off the podium in fourth place, with a score of 16.21, was the Norwegian Maria Henriksson with Marko (Hertog Jan out of Dustina, star by Waldemar, bred by T.A. van Schip from Koudekerk aan den Rijn). But what a lovely horse! There was also a sixth place in this class for Annette Jönsson with Mooi Zo W (Ditisem out of Irina VS, star by Aron HBC, bred by G.A. Lueks from Diever).
Enormous potential
In the six-year-olds, the French Anne Violaine Brisou with Nardus (Icellie out of Anca, keur by Unieko, bred by W.L. Ruinemans from Rhenen) secured sixth place in the overall standings. In the concluding skills course, which included two marathon obstacles, the impressive brown horse built up some tension, which cost points. The championship has once again demonstrated the enormous potential of beautiful driving horses, among which the KWPN horses are included.
