Silver for KWPN in the eight-year-olds class at WBFSH Studbooks JGC Trophy
Thanks to two clear rounds by Luka-Cara ridden by Michael Greeve and Lloyd ridden by Julian de Boer, the KWPN team won the silver medal in the eight-year-old final in Valkenswaard.
In the final of the WBFSH Studbooks Jumping Global Champions Trophy, both the penalty points and the time of the rounds were added together to determine the final standings.
Strong performance
For team KWPN, Julian de Boer with Lloyd (Namelus R out of Wantedgräfin, prest by Cantos, breeders Henry Kip and Nancy van Schijndel from Musselkanaal), Michael Greeve with Luka-Cara (Akarad Hero Z out of Vera Cara, sport-jumping prest by Casco, breeder H.W.M. Hekking from Raalte), who won bronze as a four-year-old in Valkenswaard under co-owner Rianne Nalis in the Blom Cup, and Maikel van der Vleuten with Lalique, sport-jumping (Berlin out of Unique, prest by Palm S, breeders Stal Van der Vleuten and Stoeterij Duysel’s Hof) competed. The first two remained faultless, while Lalique knocked down a pole for the first time this week. With an individual seventh-place finish, Michael and Luka-Cara delivered the best result for team KWPN. In total, three studbooks finished with four penalty points, making the total time of these three rounds decisive for the medal distribution. Selle Francais claimed the gold medal, while bronze went to Zangersheide. With a well-earned silver medal in the first title competition this weekend, KWPN secured its first victory.
