The first day of medal awards at the WBFSH Studbooks Jumping Global Champions Trophy in Valkenswaard has brought a second medal for the KWPN.

After the KWPN-approved stallion Key West (Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve out of Zanory T, keur prest by Phin Phin, bred by Roelof Bril from Westendorp) and Ronnie Jones secured two individual wins, placing KWPN at the top of the standings, the KWPN team once again made a strong impression in the stallion class in Valkenswaard.

Only one clear round
For team KWPN, Ronnie Jones with Key West, Roelof Bril with Iberico (Contendro I out of Dizzy Lizzy, sport-jumping prest by Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve, bred by Heike Bril-Reich from Westendorp), and Bas Moerings with Jesther (Cardento out of Vesther, keur sport-jumping prest by Guidam, bred by Jan and Geert Moerings from Oud-Gastel/Roosendaal) participated. They competed in this 1.45m class, a timed event for approved stallions aged nine and older. In this final, it became a battle between KWPN, AES, and Selle Francais. The French studbook won, as they were the only team to have a clear round. Key West finished in a fast time with four penalty points, securing third place, while Iberico also had one jumping fault.

Two medals
Tomorrow, the finals for the five-, six-, and seven-year-olds will take place. That gives Henk Dirksen’s Wadro vest some time to dry after two champagne showers today.
