KWPN team of five-year-olds wins bronze medal
Thanks to an impressive clear round by Jules de Bruijn with Oberon, the Kallmar VDL son, the KWPN team of five-year-olds secured the bronze medal in Valkenswaard.
This marks the fourth medal for the KWPN at the WBFSH Studbooks Jumping Global Champions Trophy in Valkenswaard. In the six- and eight-year-old categories and the stallions' competition, the KWPN also won silver medals.
In great shape
The KWPN team, powered by Wadro, included Jules de Bruijn with Oberon (Kallmar VDL out of Jefrieda, elite IBOP-jumping D-OC by Arezzo VDL, breeders Helmer Schut and Fokkelien Oldenburger from Grootegast), Rob Heijligers with the KWPN-approved stallion On and On MB (Baltic VDL out of Koosje de Roblesse, star sport-jumping by Harley VDL, bred by Mirjam Bierings from Westerhoven), and Piet Raijmakers Jr. with Officer R.S. (Diarado out of Go-Dette by Rinsma State PROK by Cardento, bred by W. ter Maat from Burgum). The excellent clear round by Jules and Oberon brought the team total to 12 penalty points, placing the KWPN behind the gold-winning Danish studbook and silver-winning Spanish CDE studbook. Jules de Bruijn rides the talented Kallmar VDL son for the Van de Lageweg family. “I’ve had him under saddle for a year now, and he’s developing wonderfully. He’s grown significantly, and as he’s gained more balance, his jumping has improved. How Oberon performed on the third day here truly reflects his abilities. Definitely a horse for the future!” the rider commented.
