Strong genes available in sixth collection of KWPN Online Foal Auction
Today marks the presentation of the second-last collection of this season’s KWPN Online Foal Auction. From September the 27th to 30th, bidding will be open for 19 jumping foals, 23 dressage foals, and one Gelder colt. This collection guarantees both quantity and quality, featuring foals by proven sires as well as up-and-coming stallions and representing first-class damlines.
In recent years, the auction platform KWPN Auctions has developed into an international showcase where breeders and buyers regularly come together. This season, seven editions of the KWPN Online Foal Auction are scheduled, running from July to October, with this being the sixth edition.
Strong lineages
Among the jumping foals, offspring from proven sires such as Bustique, Harley VDL, Zirocco Blue VDL, and Baltic VDL are featured, alongside promising breeding and sport stallions like New Pleasure VDL, Chaudfontaine JL Z, and On The Spot. A promising colt is for example Ugruno Gun (New Pleasure VDL out of Vogrusa H. ster prest by Indoctro, bred by N.S.J. van der Gun from Spier), whose dam jumped at 1.30m level and has already produced a 1.40m horse. He comes from the direct damline of the Grand Prix stallion Wittinger VDL. An interesting filly is Utascha Lottie (Camargo out of Key Lottie elite EPTM-spr D-OC by Zirocco Blue VDL, bred by A.A.F.M. Weernink from Groenlo), whose well-tested (EPTM 80) dam is a half-sister to the KWPN approved stallions Jumper Verdi (s. Verdi) and the internationally 1.45m level competing First Verdi (s.Verdi). Additionally, the Chaudfontaine JL son Uptown Funk (out of Alinda VM elite pref EPTM-spr PROK by Cardento, bred by H.A.M. Alferink from Luttenberg) comes from a strong damline, with his dam jumping at 1.35m level and being a half-sister to the 1.50m level jumping horse Chaperon.
Promising pedigrees
Dressage enthusiasts also have plenty to choose from. The filly U Are A Dancer Vita Nova (This is Naqueen out of Helianthe elite pref IBOP-dres PROK by Apache, bred by Dressuurstal Nathalie Smeets from Schalkwijk) was bred out of the dam of the KWPN approved stallion Ladignac, and represents a strong lineage that has produced Grand Prix horses such as Windsor, Champion, and Exquis Nadine. The For Romance daughter Una Donna Marein E (out of Caja E elite pref IBOP-dres PROK by Houston, bred by G.C. van Eck from Linde) comes from a well-tested dam (EPTM 80) and is a half-sister to the Small Tour horse Happyness E, who won the Pavo Cup in 2016. Utrex (Extreme US out of Odi Murona elite IBOP-dres PROK D-OC by Blue Hors Farrell, bred by S. van Belois-Poorter from Breskens) also boasts a well-tested dam (IBOP 87.5) and his granddam is a half-sister to the international Grand Prix horse Axel (s.Sandreo), from the esteemed Murona line. Another Extreme US offspring, Unbelievability (out of Love-Ability stb D-OC by Zonik, bred by J. Wilmink from Oud Gastel), was bred out of a half-sister to the ZZ-Zwaar (fifth level) dressage horse Fitango and is also related to the Small Tour horse Aspen.
