Sixth place for Nice Girl Dito in the World Championship final
The final of the World Championship for six-year-olds was one that showcased a lot of jumping talent. In this strong field of participants, the Arezzo VDL daughter Nice Girl Dito jumped to a sixth place.
Two lightning-fast riders claimed podium spots with exceptionally talented six-year-olds. Katrin Eckermann confirmed her reputation by winning gold with Sascinora NRW (by Stakkato-Boy RM) and bronze with Iron Dames Earl of Alice (by Eldorado van de Zeshoek), while silver went to Sniper des Lilas Blancs (by Hamilton du Chapitre) under Kendra Claricia Brinkop.
Quality and careful
Just like in the five-year-old class, twenty pairs returned for the jump-off. Thirteen of them managed to stay clear again—a remarkable achievement. In the sixth-fastest time, Nice Girl Dito (Arezzo VDL out of Ditodina elite sport-spr PROK by Carthino, breeder F.C.W. Slootmans) managed to do so under Joël Lustenberger. A great success for the mare owned by Peter and Sander Geerink, who finished third in the Van Santvoort Makelaars Cup last month. “This is definitely something you would have signed up for in advance; the competition is tough, and Nice Girl Dito is an amazing mare. She has a lot of quality and is very sharp,” says Sander Geerink, who discovered the mare earlier this year. The KWPN-approved stallion Night Life VDL (Erco van ’t Roosakker out of Ialba VDL elite IBOP-spr PROK by Arezzo VDL, breeder/owner VDL Stud) also made an impression under Alex Gill by delivering two fantastic clear rounds in this World Championship final. Their fast time placed them eleventh in this extremely competitive field.
Just outside the prizes
Among the double clears was the powerful Eldorado van de Zeshoek son Noblesse (out of Booster B ster PROK by Casco, breeder A.J. Blankenvoorde) under Filip Lacus, who narrowly missed out on the prizes. The KWPN-approved stallion VDL Sambucci de Muze (Hunter’s Scendro out of Malissa de Muze by Vigo d’Arsouilles, breeder Joris de Brabander) had an unfortunate fault at the last jump under Luke Hill, in a time that would have otherwise secured them bronze.
