Mighty Red Viper world champion under Bart Veeze
With great power and conviction, Red Viper (by Romanov) and Bart Veeze claimed the World Championship title among the 5-year-olds. The dark chestnut, bred from the double World Championship young horse mare Zolena, scored a remarkable 93.80%, easily distancing itself from the competition. Ohio (by Kaiman) and One Million (by Vivaldi) also finished in the top 10. Glamourdale’s son, Glamdale WP NRW, took second place for Germany.
Bart Veeze was somewhat overwhelmed when he secured his first world title. "In one week, I aged about ten years from the stress. But Red Viper is amazing. When the crowd started clapping enthusiastically during our final line, I thought: I believe that was very good. And it was." Veeze had nothing but praise for Red Viper (Romanov Blue Hors out of Zolena, elite EPTM-dres sport-dres PROK by Sir Sinclair, breeder C. Kerbert from Enschede): "He’s truly an amazing horse, so it was up to me to show how good he is." And that worked. The stallion moved through the ring with a lot of uphill tendency, power, and looseness, even earning a 9.8 for 'perspective'.
Brouwer and Ohio Sixth
With a score of 9 for the canter and 86.40%, the stallion Ohio (Kaiman out of Laika ASD stb-ext by Grand Galaxy Win, breeder J.P. Dalsem from Den Hoorn) finished in a respectable sixth place in the final. The relatively inexperienced black stallion was superbly ridden by his rider. The canter, in particular, caught the jury's attention: "The canter is very powerful and has a super rhythm," praised the jury members.
The KWPN-approved stallion One Million (Vivaldi out of Joyrider, elite IBOP-dres PROK by Apache, breeders M.H.J. Gotink from Warnsveld and J.M. van Uytert from Heerewaarden) was fully focused in the final and showed even better than in the qualification round. The stunning stallion scored 84.20% and finished tenth. Obsession Taonga (Vitalis out of Jatilinda, elite pref IBOP-dres sport-dres PROK by All At Once, breeder Stal 104 BV from Wijdewormer), the winner of the small final, received a 9.5 for his impressive trot and finished with a total score of 84.00%, placing eleventh under the 19-year-old Lara van Nek.
