Offspring of top sire in 4th KWPN Online Auction
Today, an exciting collection of foals is being presented in the fourth edition of the KWPN Online Foal Auction. From August the 23rd to 26th, bids can be placed on this promising group of foals. This collection includes 14 showjumping and 24 dressage foals, sired by renowned names such as Emerald van ’t Ruytershof, Don VHP Z, Extreme U.S., Glock’s Toto Jr., and Indian Rock.
Over the past few years, the auction platform KWPN Auctions has developed into an international showcase where breeders and buyers frequently come together. This season, seven editions of the KWPN Online Foal Auction are scheduled from July through October and this is the fourth edition.
Olympic genes
In both breeding directions, there are foals sired by Olympic stallions. Among the showjumping foals, there are two offspring of the top sire Emerald van ’t Ruytershof, who competed in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics with Harrie Smolders. The colt Unexpected (Emerald van ’t Ruytershof x Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve) comes from a dam who is a half-sister to four 1.40m level showjumpers. Another notable foal is Unicum B (Poker de Mariposa x Massimo), whose granddam Galanda, jumped at 1.40m level. His great-granddam is the renowned international sport and breeding mare Alanda (s.Le Mexico) and his dam is a half-sister to the Grand Prix showjumper Van Schijndel’s Now or Never (s.Burggraaf). The lineage of the filly Univinia (Chester Z x Falaise de Muze) is highly regarded, producing the Olympic showjumper Ilex (s.Baltic VDL, McLain Ward) as well as top level performers like Havinia and Zinius.
Dressage talent
Several dressage foals also have successful relatives. The colt Uppsala MD (Extreme U.S. x Ferro) is a grandson of the Small Tour mare Nendyrava, who herself produced four Small Tour horses and can be found in the damline of successful horses like the Intermediate II horse Endyrava and the Small Tour KWPN approved stallion Giovanni. The Extreme U.S. son Upperclass (ds.Johnson) comes from a Small Tour mare, while the Indian Rock son Ultar-Olympia KL4 (ds.Rubin Royal) is out of a Z2 (third-fourth) level mare who has already produced a Small Tour horse and is related on the dam’s side to Grand Prix horses like Sintano van Hof Olympia, Gatino van Hof Olympia, and Edmonton. The granddam of Uwe Osterbos (Extreme U.S. x Bretton Woods) is the Grand Prix mare Astrid Sollenburg, making his dam Hera Sollenburg a full sister to the international U25 Grand Prix horse Goldwyn. The filly Ultima Pas T (So Perfect x Franklin) was bred from a half-sister to the international Grand Prix horse Entertainer Win T (s.Rousseau) and the KWPN-approved stallion Grand Galaxy Win (s.Apache), who competed at Intermediate II level.
