Highway TN-Offspring Nibbit Wins Consolation Final for Six-Year-Olds
The third consolation final of today has ended, with Marriët Smit-Hoekstra emerging victorious with the Highway TN-offspring Nibbit. In total, twenty combinations remained faultless.
Over 40 combinations started in this consolation final for six-year-olds. For the third consecutive day, they jumped a 1.30m course. Nearly half of the participants remained faultless, which meant fast riding was necessary to finish at the top.
Intense Competition
Marriët Smit-Hoekstra was up to the task. She secured the victory with a blazing fast time on Nibbit (Highway TN-offspring out of Iresco elite sport-spr PROK by Verdi, breeder Aat Smit from Mildam). This gelding, descended from Rolex Grand Prix winner Highway TN, inherited his talent. His dam, Iresco, competes at the 1.40m level in America and is a half-sister to the 1.60m horses Foot Loose MFS (by Baltic) and U-Bresco Z (by Untouchable Z). Close behind was Sacha de Wit with the Global Express-offspring Novio (out of the internationally 1.45m-jumping Investment sport-spr by Action Breaker), who, like the winner of the consolation final for five-year-olds, comes from the breeding program of Cor and Margriet Kuin from Lepelstraat.
Baltic VDL
Finishing just half a second behind the winner, Yannick Hendrikx placed third with Nikiolga-America (Baltic VDL out of Imola America by Harley VDL, breeder H.J.G.M. Vullings from Helden). The KWPN-approved stallion Norton VDL, also Baltic VDL-offspring (out of Wyrusa H ster pref prest PROK by Corland, breeder Anne Jan Hazenberg), ridden by Marcel de Boer, was among the faultless combinations in this final, finishing in 15th place.
