Seven-Year-Olds Off to a Good Start in Van Santvoort Makelaars Cup
On the first day of the KWPN Van Santvoort Makelaars Cup, the seven-year-olds also got off to a good start. Among the twelve clear rounds were five KWPN-approved stallions.
In terms of numbers, the seven-year-old class is, as every year, the least populated, but the quality was abundantly present in this final test on the first day. The 39 seven-year-old show jumpers jumped a 1.40m course, with twelve combinations remaining clear.
Ease and Power
Hessel Hoekstra rode both the KWPN-approved stallion Stargos VDL (Stakkato Gold out of Estella by Conthargos, breeder W. Winkeler) from the VDL Stud and Mister SFN (by Grandorado TN out of Valery ster pref prest PROK by Haarlem, breeder Ton Lautenschutz) from the Springpaardenfonds to completely clear rounds in this 1.40m class. The ease and athletic ability both horses demonstrated suggest that Hessel is heading into the second part with confidence. The continuation of the semi-final is scheduled from 17:50.
Approved Stallions
In addition to Stargos VDL, the KWPN-approved stallions A Moonlight Special Z (Aganix du Seigneur out of Double-Especiale ster PROK by Chacco-Blue, breeder/owner Jack Verstappen) ridden by Pieter Keunen, Mees van de Watermolen (Vannan out of Holinda ster pref by Carambole, breeder/owner Jan Greve) ridden by Mart IJland, McAllister VDL (Inaico VDL out of Zoklahoma VDL ster pref prest by Emilion, breeder/owner VDL Stud) ridden by Jur Vrieling, and Defender VDS Z (Dominator Z out of Atureusa S keur sport-spr by Padinus, breeder Daphne van der Schaar) ridden by Marco Sas also achieved impressive clear rounds. Among the twelve clear horses were two offspring of the (almost) Olympic keur stallion Grandorado TN.
