After winning the semi-final and the first segment of the final, Red Viper did not disappoint under guest rider Jessica Lynn Thomas. The impressive stallion received a 9.8 from her, securing the title.

Red Viper (Romanov Blue Hors out of Zolena elite EPTM-dres sport-dres PROK by Sir Sinclair, bred by C. Kerbert from Enschede) transitioned from the long legs of his regular rider Bart Veeze to Jessica Lynn Thomas. "The difference between Bart and me is huge, but fortunately, he made it very easy for me," she said enthusiastically. "He is very responsive to aids and constantly attentive to me. You can see from his ears that he is always watching where I am and what I am doing. I think I need to move to the Netherlands. If I get to ride horses like this, I would consider it!"

Willing Horses
The reserve champion and best mare is Secret's daughter Oxxi_Lena (out of Helena elite sport-dres IBOP-dres PROK by Don Tango B, bred by Myra Dicker-Glaser from Harskamp) under Annemijn Boogaard. Jessica gave her a 9.4 for the ride. "This mare really wants to work for you; she fights for you and listens to everything you ask. She gives so much, and I enjoyed riding her very much." Jessica awarded Olivius (Totilas out of Blueberry-Utopia elite sport-dres IBOP-dres PROK by Vivaldi, bred by R. van den Heuvel from Kaatsheuvel) a 9.0 for the ride. This horse, presented by Danielle Heijkoop, was also the best gelding in this final. "This horse has a lot of go without being too sharp. He is alert but well-focused on his rider."

Top Five
Sem Stiemer and GLOCK's Toto Jr. son Topgun (out of Chita W elite IBOP-dres PROK by Vivaldi, bred by J. van Weerden from Meijel) finished in fifth place today. They stayed ahead of Extreme U.S. (Escamillo out of Viva Contana PS by Vivaldi, bred by Gestuet Lewitz from Steinfeld). This 2023 Pavo Cup champion was presented by Renate van Uytert - van Vliet.
