Nashville SW Claims Second Pavo Cup Victory
At four years old, Nashville SW had already won the Pavo Cup. This year, the Secret son repeated his success in the Pavo Cup for six-year-old horses. The willing stallion also impressed guest rider Jessica Lynn Thomas, who awarded him a 9.8.
Nashville SW (Secret out of Esina elite pref IBOP-dres sport-dres PROK by Jazz, bred by Stal Willig VOF from Abcoude) had already won the first segment of the Pavo Cup final today and performed exceptionally well under the guest rider. “I am very impressed with this horse! I would give a lot to have such a horse in my stable. He has an extremely good rideability.” His rider, Femke, also praised his rideability. “He is very willing to work; he’s a really nice horse. I loved seeing Jessica ride him. It was such a beautiful sight that I thought: I want that horse! But I already get to ride him every day. I never see Nashville with anyone else, only with myself in a video. This is incredibly fun to see.”
Willing Horses
The reserve title, just like in 2022, went to Judith Ribbels and her Vitalis daughter Nanny Mc Phee (out of Funfun EB elite sport-dres IBOP-dres PROK by Sorento, bred by Stal Ribbels B.V. from Eibergen). Judith also received a breeder’s premium from the Friends of the KWPN for breeding the best mare in this final. “A sensitive mare who really wants to do her job, truly a horse for the future,” said Jessica. Ilegro (Inclusive out of Jalegrofleur ster pref PROK by Negro, bred by Van Olst Horses from Den Hout and Joop Hanse from Burgh-Haamstede) completed the top three under Zandra Birkelund. “A horse that really wants to work; I am impressed by how much energy these horses still have in the final segment of the Pavo Cup.”
Best Gelding
Kim Alting and Dark Rousseau (Dettori out of Westside ster prest PROK by Rousseau, bred by Hanny Verdellen from Hegelsom) just missed out on the second segment, finishing in fourth place. Indian Rock son Nashville (out of Fabulous Girl elite EPTM-dres by Ampère, bred by E.T. ten Bosch from Driel) completed the top five under Saskia Poel and was the best gelding in the Pavo Cup.
