It's not just stallions taking the spotlight this week at the KWPN Stallion Show. Four special mares will be brought into the limelight and honored as Mare of the Year, a new title.

At the KWPN Stallion Show, various Horses of the Year are celebrated, the new predicate stallions are honored, and now, the best KWPN broodmares are also being recognized. These mares have made a significant contribution to the breeding goal of the KWPN, producing offspring that excel at the highest levels.

Impressive Track Record
The suspense remains about which mares will receive this title, but one thing is certain: they are mares with an impressive track record, repeatedly demonstrating the ability to produce offspring that perform exceptionally well in sports. It's not necessarily about the mares' own performance in sports; they can also be posthumously named Mare of the Year.

Number of Offspring
In each breeding direction, a mare with the performance predicate has been chosen based on specific criteria. An important measure is the number of offspring from these mares that perform at the highest level, taking into account the total number of offspring, including those not registered with KWPN. The KWPN Stallion Show is the stage where these exceptional mares deserve recognition. Naturally, the breeders and owners of these mares will also be acknowledged.

The KWPN Stallion Show is gearing up again. The world's largest stallion inspection will take place from January 31 to February 3 in Den Bosch. Ticket sales have already started, and KWPN members naturally receive a discount for the KWPN Stallion Show. It promises to be four fantastic days once again.
