After three online editions of the KWPN Select Sale, the KWPN's most eye-catching auction returns to Den Bosch. "The KWPN Select Sale belongs there, we are happy that we will auction live again," said Rom Vermunt who is part of the KSS selection committee for the first time this year. From now on, you can view the collection which includes 26 dressage and 19 showjumping stallions that may all show at the second round viewing.

Besides the live bidding, it is of course also possible to bid online or by phone on Thursday 1 February (showjumpers) and Saturday 3 February (dressage). This will give everyone a chance to invest in new top talent, both at home and abroad. The selection committee managed to select a broad collection with both offspring of top Dutch stallions such as Kjento, Glamourdale and Just Wimphof, as well as offspring of some well-proven foreign stallions.

Two sons out of Velvet V.D.T.
The mare Velvet V.D.T. is well known at the KWPN Select Sale, she has supplied the KWPN Select Sale auction topper on several editions. This full sister of the stallion Osmium is listed as dam of Ribery V.D.T. (s.Don Juan de Hus) and Romario V.D.T. (s.Dante Weltino). Red Spirit, the son of Blue Hors Monte Carlo TC has as grandmother none other than the full sister of World Champion Jovian. Or how about Rayano? This stallion has got an excellent bloodline with Glamourdale, Cum Laude, Jazz, Havidoff and Doruto in a row. Just Wimphof son Royal Wimphof NSH goes back to the successful international Grand Prix horse Calanta, who participated in several international championships.

Sons of proven stallions
The collection of showjumping stallions is also solid. Complete, athletic show jumpers with suppleness, balance and blood. Sons of top international sires Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve, Aganix du Seigneur, Bustique and even a direct son of none other than Chacco-Blue are part of the collection.

Genetic highlights
Reflex van de Watermolen is a son of the excellent jumping Mees van de Watermolen, who is trained for the higher level by Willem Greve, and shows he inherited a lot of talent from his sire. Genetically interesting is Cupido Fan Skûlenboarch Z, this stallion descends from Ceasar Z, who in turn is bred out of the clone of the phenomenal Ratina Z. Grandorado TN shows he can make a difference in sport as well as breeding and is the sire of Romantico RM. The dam of this well jumping stallion is the half-sister of the international 1.50m horse Dolce Vita (s.Lord Z). She herself contributes the valuable genes of Cornet Obolensky. On the sire's side, Kudus AWH Z carries the blood of Kassander van 't Roosakker, who in turn goes back to the famous Electra van 't Roosakker (s.Carthago Z), with whom Jos Lansink jumped 1.60m Grand Prix. Kudus AWH Z's dam herself already produced Henrik von Eckermann's 1.60m horse Forever (s.Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve), in addition she is the half-sister of the 1.60m horse Balder van de Kateleijnekouter (s.Baloubet du Rouet).

"Good selection took place"
"A good selection has taken place and you have a lot of opportunities to assess the stallions at various moments," explains Rom Vermunt, who himself has successfully bought at the KWPN Select Sale several times. "For example, you have the live moments during the first round viewing and the second round viewing. You can also see the stallions in the stables and you have videos of all the moments including the lunging in Ermelo. As a buyer, that gives a lot of information and confidence."

"Every effort will be made"
It is also possible to request the x-rays and veterinary reports and have them assessed by your own vet. "Every effort is made to give the potential buyer the best possible impression of these stallions. You really don't have to buy the auction topper to increase your chances of success. I myself did not buy the most expensive stallions, but have always been extremely happy with them. That is partly due to the good selection beforehand, both on conformation, movement and health. The KWPN Select Sale offers the unique opportunity to buy a carefully selected sport horse or breeding stallion," concludes Rom Vermunt.
