In the past weeks, you had the opportunity to vote for your favorites, and now the votes have been counted to determine which stallions will be honored at the KWPN Stallion Show. Glamourdale, a multiple gold medalist in his lifetime, has been named Horse of the Year for the second time.

The son of Lord Leatherdale (out of Thuja stb pref prest by Negro, bred by J.W. Rodenburg from Ouderkerk aan den IJssel) garnered the most public votes. The two-time world champion added European team gold and individual European Championship silver to his impressive list of achievements this year. In the world cup competition at The Dutch Masters, Glamourdale and Charlotte Fry remained unbeatable, as well as in the 5-star competition in Fontainebleau and the 3-star competition in Kronenberg.

National Media
The success of the breeding behind Glamourdale was emphasized in the national media last month. Granddaughters Jasmijn and Isabel van der Velden spoke with De Telegraaf about their late grandfather's breeding. "My grandfather had a good sense of what a horse should possess. He was able to convey the qualities of a stallion and a mare to a foal. I remember him telling me what to look for while mucking out the stables, something we did together. I still benefit from that advice to this day," Jasmijn told De Telegraaf.

Celebration
The celebration of the Dressage Horse of the Year will take place during the Friday evening of the KWPN Stallion Show. As is tradition, Friday promises to be a spectacle that any dressage enthusiast would want to attend. In addition to the finals of the Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition Dressage, the newly awarded predicate stallions will be honored, and the best sires will gather in Den Bosch.
