What a beautiful final for the seven-year-old dressage horses. Danciero emerged victorious under the saddle of Anna Kasprzak, she said: “It’s easy to be a good rider on such an incredible horse.” The same could said of bronze medalist Lightning Star. Kirsten Brouwer guided the mare through a sublime and flawless test.

Lightning Star obtained a score of 81.779%, receiving a 9.0 for her pure and active walk, a 9.1 for the powerful and expressive trot and the submission, which reflects the harmony and rideability, was even awarded a 9.2. In 2021 this mare won the bronze at the WC in Verden and today she matched that result in Ermelo. Kirsten: “I really enjoyed our ride today and it’s amazing she was rewarded with the bronze medal. It’s always such a wonderful horse to work with. She now gets some time off and then I will prepare her for the Small Tour.” The dam of Lightning Star is the elite prestatie preferent sport mare Daily Enjoy (De Niro x OO Seven). The dam line also features a 3* eventer horse, as well as a 1.60m showjumper and two Big Tour dressage horses. Lightning Star is registered to R&R Sporthorses BV and Stal Brouwer. The mare sired by Ferguson was bred by Titan Wilaras.

Las Vegas claims ninth position

The second KWPN horse that advanced to the final thanks to a fourth place in the qualification was the KWPN Stallion Las Vegas ridden by Hans Peter Minderhoud. On Friday, the duo gave a fantastic performance, on Sunday the stallion seemed a bit tired and could not match his previous result. His paces were still good and he is an impressive appearance in the ring. The result was 75.23% and a ninth place in this competitive class. Las Vegas is a son of Ferdeaux, a former WC-finalist at five and six years of age. He was bred by family Deenen in Heijen out of the preliminary keur mare Dalia Delin (s.Wynton) and is registered to Nico Witte and Nol Gerritsen.

Marketing for the sport

Chairman of the jury Henning Lehrman praised the quality fifteen horses in the final: “We could award many nines. These horses are the best marketing for the sport.”
