ErmeloYH: Nero 10th in thrilling final
The podium of the thrilling final for five-year-olds did not feauture a fully Dutch bred horse. The talented No Limit, a son of the KWPN stallion Geniaal that was born in the Netherlands, obtained silver. The in Westphalian gelding placed behind Quinn G, a Quaterhit-daughter that received a 10 for perspective. The best KWPN result was claimed by Nero (s.Ferguson) that placed 10th under Bart Veeze.
This meant Nero, bred by Titan Wilaras, could not match his qualification result. His walk, which received a 10 on Thursday, was now awarded a 9.5. Some mistakes in the canter also reduced the grade for submission. The total score came down to 81%.
Develop strength
“We all believe this is a good and willing horse, that simply needs to delvop a bit more strength. The walk is the highlight, and the canter has great uphill tendency. The trot is active, pure, and has sufficient elasticity, but we would like to see him place the hind leg more under the body. Nero got a bit rigid at times”, explains commentating judge Ulrike Nivelle.
15th position for Nalegro
Charlotte Fry and KWPN stallion Negro had to settle for the 15th position with 79.6%. The son of Painted Black scored 8s or higher throughout, with the 7.5 mark for submission being the exception. “A nice horse with a lot of potential”, said Neville after the test. “In the trot we noticed a lot of power in the hind leg, the canter is uphill, but the top line could less hollow sometimes. Today the tension caused some errors and mistakes, so we granted him a 7.5 for submission.”
