Hilltop Farm announced that they have had to say goodbye to the retired keur stallion Olivi. The Jazz-son performed at the highest level of dressage and leaves behind a string of successful offspring.

In 1996, Olivi (Jazz out of Halla Utopia elite sport-dres pref prest PROK by Aktion) was born in the stables of Hans and Lia Ligtvoet of Maatschap Livi in Esbeek. Three years later, he was successfully presented at the KWPN Stallion Show, where he was declared vice-champion. Approval followed in the spring of 1999 and as a young horse he garnered attention with his performance in the Pavo Cup final. In the Netherlands he was reached the Small Tour with Bart Bax before continuing his career at Haras du Feuillard in France. There, Young Rider Raphael Thomas picked up the reins, with whom he also competed at Small Tour level. At the age of 11, Olivi made his international Grand Prix debut under Marc Boblet.

Grand Prix offspring

A total of 617 offspring of Olivi were registered at the KWPN. Two of his sons, UB40 and Universeel, were approved at the KWPN. His influence in the paternal line is mainly established via UB40-son Apache. His first crops immediately produced Grand Prix horses such as the successful Triviant of Matthias-Alexander Rath, One Night Stand of Fie Christine Skarsoe and later Benzi Lando of José Antonio Garcia Mena and Amadeus of Daniel Watson. Other notable offspring of Olivi are Hans Peter Minderhoud’s Ucelli T, which won silver at the WC for Young Dressage Horses and later competed in the Small Tour, Travolta’s Nieuwmoed of Remy Bastings and Ulissa of Adelinde Cornelissen. Olivi’s achievements in breeding earned him the keur predicate in 2010. For the last seven years, Olivi was stabled at Hilltop Farm in Maryland, where he enjoyed a full retirement the last years.
