The 14-year-old stallion Denzel V’T Meulenhof has died unexpectedly as a result of colic. In 2021, Team Nijhof acquired a share of the stallion co-owned by Joris de Brabander and Jimmy Vermeulen and recently Denzel V’T Meulenhof was recognized by the KWPN.

Denzel V’T Meulenhof (Marius Claudius out of Narcotique de Muze IV by Quidam de Revel, breeder Mariëtte van Lombergen of Temse) stood out for the substantial number of offspring successful in the international sports even though he covered relatively few mares. Nevertheless, those seasons of standing at stud produced some remarkable showjumpers, including the KWPN stallions Nixon van ‘t Meulenhof and Ipsthar, as well as the notable sport horses Intertoff, Jikke-Cara and Jotabe B.

Colic

Team Nijhof states the stallion suddenly succumbed to colic. “Today, the stallion Denzel V’T Meulennhof completely unexpectedly died from colic. This top stallion was a valuable asset to our stud since 2021 and he was recently recognised by the KWPN and approved by Hannnover. We thank co-owners Joris de Brabander and Jimmy Vermeulen for their trust and hope he will become immortal through the performances of his offspring. Denzen V’T Meulenhof will remain available through frozen semen.”
