Seven dressage stallions approved
The autumn performance test for dressage stallions has come to an end. All the stallions that participated in the final exam were registered with good scores, including three stallions of Stal 104.
Due to an accident, chairman Bert Rutten could not be present for the last phase of the performance test. Bart Bax was therefore temporarily appointed as member of the stallion selection committee and Johan Hamminga took over the chairman duties. He provided all seven approved stallions with an extensive commentary.
Valuable addition
After writing history at the stallion show last February, Willeke Bos again broke the record. Three of her homebred stallions were approved, led by Obsession Taonga (Vitalis out of Jatilinda elite IBOP-dres sport-dres PROK by All At Once) that obtained the highest points of the day. Scoring three nines and a 9.5 for the canter, this high-legged eyecatcher secured a total of 87 points. Her premium stallion Opoque (All At Once out of Ice Princess STH elite IBOP-dres sport-dres PROK D-OC by Davino V.O.D.), that is owned by Stal 104 and Andreas Helgstrand, also impressed with a total of 85,5 points. “We have been able to add seven interesting stallions to the KWPN stallion base today. It is up to the breeders to choose the stallions with the right genes and traits for their mare, to bring in good qualities or embed them further”, spoke the substitute chairman Johan Hamminga. In addition to six three-year-old stallions, of which one (Olé Guapo, Vivaldi out of Joyrider elite IBOP-dres PROK by Apache, owned by breeder M.H.J. Gotink of Warnsveld and co-registered to Joop van Uytert, 82 points) participated on a voluntary basis, the five-year-old Gorgeous Black Art (Glock’s Toto Jr. out of Beauty Vienna D stb by Rubiquil, bred by K. Visser of Alteveer) of Stal Hexagon was also registered. He earned his appointment for the 21-day test via the Pavo Cup and obtained a total of 80,5 points.
The full reports are added to the KWPN Database as soon as possible.
