He saw, he came, he conquered. The stunning stallion Kjento performed a phenomenal test with a trot you can only dream of. It was awarded the ultimate ten and secured him the world title for the second year in a row. 

The jury ran out of superlatives to describe the trot of the black KWPN stallion. “What an exciting and super moving horse”, started commentating judge Maria Swenessen of Australia. “A pleasure to judge and has trot has such balance, uphill tendency, and collection there is nothing left to desire, a 10!” started Maria Schwennessen on behalf of the jury. “The walk is correct and has good over track, but could be more elastic, an 8. The canter is so uphill, and he excels in the collected work and the extensions, a 9.2.” The jury granted a 9.5 for submission and 9.8 for perspective. The very high technical score of 78.572% brought the total to 85.786%, a percentage no other rider could match. Beatrice Hoffrogge and her Oldenburg-bred Destello (Dimaggio x Fürst Fugger) obtained silver (83.957%), ahead of the impressive Escamillo (Escolar x Rohdiamant) of Manuel Dominguez Bernal. Their score of 83.072% was rewarded with the bronze medal. 

Kuvasz sixth

Mariek van der Putten presented Kuvasz RS2 (Glamordale out of Dyor de Hus elite pref IBOP-dr PROK by De Niro, bred by Stal de Havikerwaard) in a very appealing manner. The elegant horse draws attention with his beautiful front and light-footedness. An error in the simple change and a pirouette that lacked some balance, were reflected in the marks for canter and submission. “A horse with a huge trot that shows cadence and a powerful push off the ground, an 8.9. The walk is elastic, but we would like to see a more swinging back, a 7.9. The canter is elevated and jumped well off the ground, but at time loses some balance and that caused a few mistakes, an 8. A 7.8 for submission, an 8.2 for perspective and a technical score of 74.642% brought their total to 78.122%, the eighth rank. 

Expressive

Franklin-daughter Kavira had also qualified for the final with her Swedish rider Sofie Lexner. The alluring mare, who was announced vice-champion of the National Mare Championships at three years of age, again showed abundant quality, especially in the trot. She started off strong but was taken aback by a mistake in the canter and it took the rider some time to get in the flow again. “The trot is powerful and elastic, a 9. The walk is clear with a good over track but should display more freedom in the shoulder and more activity in the collected work, an 8. Unfortunately, there had some issues in the canter, creating tension in the back, a 7.5.” As this also brought down the score for submission and perspective, today’s total came down to 72.279%. However, a horse we will surely see more of in the future!
