Following the jumper stallions, it was time for the final exam of the dressage stallions. The 21-day-test yielded an interesting group of nine approved stallions, among them two sons of Painted Black. 

Scoring 87,5 points, it was the four-year-old Desperados-son Nashville Star (out of Ezrasijgje ster by Westpoint, bred by L. Martens and daughters) of Reesink Horses that took top honours. “This is a chic, appealing stallion that possesses three solid basic gaits, including an excellent walk. He moves in a light-footed manner and is remarkable skilled in regulating his stride”, explains Bert Rutten. He was tasked with the assessment of these stallions, together with Johan Hamminga and Marian Dorresteijn. For the walk, Nashville Star obtained a 9.5.

Out of nine approved dressage stallions, eight noted an 80+ score, underling the overall quality. Nalegro (s.Painted Black, bred by Joop Hanse, owned by co-breeder Gertjan vam Olst) that comes out of the full sister of Olympic champion Valegro also convinced the jury of his abilities and was awarded 85 points. He received a 9 for his canter. One stallion could not be presented today but was nevertheless accepted as a breeding stallion. It concerned Just Wimphof-offspring Network (out of Keyveniz Texel stb-ext pref D-OC by Negro) of breeders Daan Staller and Danique Broekema. This morning the stallion turned out to have an elevated body temperature, forcing him to be absent. However, the stallion selection committee had acquired enough information over the past few weeks to make an assessment.
