Bronze for Loharna-P (s.Carrera VDL) at WC Lanaken
The first medal for the Netherands and the KWPN is in! Nicole Eggens just jumped to the bronze medal with clear-round-machine Loharna P, bred by Ben Plater.
55 contenders in the final, that was open for all five-year-olds that remained clear the first two days, were faced with a challenging course in Lanaken. In this 1.25m course 16 combinations qualified for the jump-off. Nicole Eggens was one of them with Loharna-P (Carrera VDL out of Viantha-P elite prest PROK D-OC by Burggraaf, bred by Ben Platzer from Ommen). As the only KWPN-horse in the jump-off, the competitive mare jumped to bronze. The golden medal went to the stallion Querido VG (s.Dominator Z) with Christian Ahlmann, while Quabriolet van het Bildeken (s.Anakin van Schuttershof) and Arnaud Gaublomme kept the silver in Belgium.
Never dared to dream it
Nicole Eggens bought Loharna-P as a yearling from close acquaintance Ben Platzer, that still follows his breeding product closely. “It was a fantastic experience to come here, after Loharna-P jumped well in the Blom Cup. And then all in sudden, you advance to the final and now you are bringing home a medal! This is my first time riding here and never dared to dream about this”, responds the enthusiastic rider. Breeder Ben Platzer is returning home with not only the 2.000 euro breeder premium from Zangersheide; he also receives a 1000 euro cheque from the ‘Friends from the KWPN’.
