KWPN recognizes Grand Prix stallion Nintendo
The Grand Prix stallion Kastels Nintendo has recently been nominated for recognition. The dressage stallion inspection committee has given a positive assessment of this son of Negro. The General Board has now formalized this recognition request for this twenty-year-old stallion.
Nintendo (Negro out of Rodieni R elite pref prest sport-dres PROK by Monaco, breeder C. Rommens from Bavel) comes from a successful sport lineage. Mother Rodieni R competed at Z2 level and, in combination with Negro, also produced the mare Top's Zoë, with whom Theo Hanzon competed in international Grand Prix. This Top's Zoë also produced three international Grand Prix horses, including Eddieni (by Johnson), which scored well above 70 percent with multiple riders. In addition, Top's Zoë also produced a Small Tour and a Medium Tour horse.
Sport lineage
In combination with Negro, Rodieni R also produced the Grand Prix horse Isadieni SRV and the Small Tour horse Amazing R. Her offspring by Krack C and Bretton Woods are respectively competing at ZZ-Light and ZZ-Heavy levels.
Over 120 Grand Prix starts
Nintendo was selected for the performance test as a three-year-old and then developed very well in the sport. The stallion was trained by Gertjan and Anne van Olst and subsequently competed at Grand Prix level for a remarkable ten years. With Charlotte Jorst, the stallion participated in over 120 competitions, winning 25 tests. Among the many highlights are the World Cup final in Gothenburg (2016), and the duo represented the United States seven times in the FEI Nations Cup.
KWPN requirements
Nintendo meets the radiological requirements set by the KWPN. The genomic breeding value and the exterior assessment do not raise any concerns. Nintendo has a genomic breeding value of 102 (52% reliability) and a dressage breeding value of 121 (51% reliability). Nintendo is not a carrier of the WFFS gene.
