Performance test report

Conformation
Bocelies Matteo is al well developed stallion that meets the standards for conformation. The head could be more attractive. The pole is of sufficient length with a slightly heavy head-neck connection. The neck is of sufficient length and shape, with a slight heavy muscling and good placement. The withers are developed well and good of length. The shoulder is placed well and good of length. The back is good of lenght but could have more muscling. The loins could have more muscling but are connected sufficiently. The croupe is placed well and of good length and muscling. The hamstring has more than sufficient length. The front leg is positioned toes out seen from the front, seen from the side hollow and of  good length. The hind leg is placed correct. The pastern is good of length and correct. The hoofs are well developed and of good quality with high heels. The fundament is well developed and of more than sufficient quality.

Lineage
The hackney stallion Bocellies Matteo is a son of the stallion Bocellie, who also is the sire of last years’ KWPN approves stallion Icellie. Bocellies Matteo, who was successfully competed in the dutch harness competions ‘Limietklasse’, was awarded best stallion of the newly approved stallions that year in March at the Hackney studbook. Sire Bocellie was awarded champion that same event. Bocellies’ sire Plain’s Liberator, has a successful and growing influence on the KWPN harness horse population with his approved sons Sir Arie, Zepplin and Dylano. He is grandsire to approved stallions Idol and Icelle Plain’s Liberator himself became champion in the harness classes several times and was awared the keur predicate from the Hackney studbook. Flogland’s Cover Girl, dam of Bocellies Matteo, is a descendent of Blokland Shales via sire Rambo van de Schoonenberg. Blokland Shales delivered several competiton horses in the harness classes. Plain’s Daylight (s. Acle Satan Supreme) who is the dam of Frogland’s Cover Girl, was awarded keur and her dam Winsome Rosie (s. Holypark Jubilation) is awarded preferent. Winsome Rosie is also dam of Plain’s Black Satin who was competed in the ‘ereklasse’ in Great Britain, and is sire to Plain’s Liberator.

Performance test Report
Bocellies Matteo is a honest and reliable stallion. The stallion has more than suffiecient willingness to work and is focussed on the rider. The walk is large and powerful. In front of the carriage the stallion places his neck abundantly and uses his body efficiently. Bocellies Matteo has a lot of action and bend in the knees and places the front leg large to very large ahead. The hindleg is good to abundantly bend and good to abundantly placed under the body. In trot the stallion has a large to very large moment of suspension. Bocellies Matteo has more than sufficient to a lot of willingness to work and is considered a talented harness horse. He gives the rider a good feeling and during the stallion performance test he made progression in his performance.

Honest and reliable stallion, easy to handle and calm in his stall.

Bocellies Matteo seems to be able to add action and power in movement into breeding and is an interesting stallion that brings fresh blood into KWPN harness horse breeding. Mares should have front and reasonable size.

Bocellies Matteo showd a uniform collection of abundantly harness typical foals who were differently developed and have a good rectangular body shape. They have an attractive look and charisma. When shown the foals could have a slightly more uphill build in the trunk. 
Use of the frontleg is generally active and with good scope, but some offspring should have more bend in the knee and more shoulder freedom.
The hindleg has abundant bend and power, but should generally be placed more under the body. The foals show a good neck placement in trot, show sufficient front, but should move more upwards in trot. Foals show a good scope and balance.

Bocellies Matteo showed a uniform collection, abundantly harness typical foals who were differently developed and of good rectangular body shape. They have a lot of presence and an attractive look. Judged at standing the body direction could be more uphill.

The back tends to be a little weak.
The loins are of more than sufficient shape and muscling.

The fundament is correct and of good quality but in some cases could show more bone structure.

The hooves are normal and of good shape and quality.
The walk is active and of good scope, but could show more suppleness.

Foals have a good placement of the neck in trot and show enough front, but should move more uphill. The foals show a lot of scope and a good balance. The foal that was judged at home is judged more negative in comparison with the report.

Breeding recommendations 
The foals of Bocellies Matteo positively stand out with their attractive look and firmness. Bocellies Matteo seems to be a good match with well developed harness typical mares. The stallion can be interesting regarding genetic variation.
