Conformation:
Ludovicus is a generously developed, appealing stallion with a good rectangular model. The head is sufficiently expressive. The neck has sufficient length with a correct head-neck connection. The neck has good length, a good shape and is well-muscled. The shoulder has good length and a good position. The withers are well developed and of good length. The back is good in length and well-muscled. The loins are well connected and well-muscled. The croup has a good position, length and muscling. The hamstring has more than sufficient length. The foreleg is correctly positioned when viewed from the side and from the front. The hindleg is correctly positioned. The pasterns are good in length and correctly positioned. The foundation is well developed and of good quality. The hooves are well developed, good in shape and of good quality. The heels are correctly developed.

Descendant:
In the pedigree of Ludovicus we find the unforgettable Almé son Galoubet A on both father's and mother's side, who made his mark in international jumping and breeding with the French Gilles Bertrand de Balanda in the eighties. Edinburgh won the stallion competition twice with Kristian Houwen who now jumps 1.50m internationally with him. Elite mare Fanetra van de Zeelandsedijk is a daughter of the strong inhereting, 1.50m jumping, Balou du Rouet. Grandmother Anetra van de Leeuwerk is descended from the influential Clinton. In combination with Canturano, she produced the offspring Douglas who performed at 1.40m. Great-grandmother Fonetra (by Maykel) is the grandmother of the 1.60m show jumper Dancer (by Orlando van de Heffinck) with Lauren Crook (USA).

Performance report:
Ludovicus is an honest, reliable and sympathetic stallion with a good to very good attitude. The stallion has a lot of willingness to work and is easy to work with. The walk has more than sufficient space and flexibility. The trot has more than sufficient to good space. During movement, the stallion has more than sufficient posture and a good balance. The canter is powerful, active and has good space and a very good carriage. Ludovicus is very controlled before the jump and jumps with good to very good reflexes and a good body use. Sometimes the stallion does not allow himself enough time before the jump. The stallion jumps with a good and even front leg technique where the jump is completed well in the hindlegs. Ludovicus seems careful and shows much to very much athletic ability and has the quality to be able to switch forward very easily above the jump. Ludovicus has much to very much talent for jumping and gives his rider a good to very good feeling.

Stable behaviour:
Honest reliable stallion, easy going and calm in the stable.

Ludovicus can improve the model and add jumping quality, especially scope, to show jumping horse breeding.

The head is expressive with a nice eye.
The neck has a very good length with a light head-neck connection.

The withers are sufficiently developed but should have more length.
The shoulder has good length and a good position.
The back has good length and good muscling.
The loins are well muscled and well connected.
The croup has a slightly sloping position, sufficient length and good muscling.
The hamstring has sufficient length.
The foreleg is correctly positioned.
The hindleg is correctly positioned.
The pasterns are good in length and the hind pasterns are slightly weak.
The hooves are equal, well developed and of good quality with low heels.
The foundation is well developed and of good quality.
The walk is regular, good in space and good in flexibility.
The trot has good space with a good posture and a sufficiently placement of the hindleg under the body.
The canter is powerful, good in space, more than sufficiently carried with a good posture.
