Performance test report

Conformation:
Gerardus is a well-developed stallion with good rectangular-shaped conformation. The head is long and attractive. The poll has sufficient length with a correct head-neck connection. The neck has good length, shape, and muscling. The wither is well developed and has sufficient length. The shoulder has good length and placement. The back is slightly dropped but has sufficient length and more than sufficient muscling. The loins have good muscling and are well connected. The croup has good placement, length, and muscling. There is more than sufficient to good length from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock. The front leg is correct. The hind leg is correct. The pasterns have good length and are correct. The legs are well developed and of more than sufficient to good quality. The hooves are well shaped and of more than sufficient quality.

Lineage:
Gerardus is the third KWPN-approved son of the outstanding Grand Prix stallion Carambole. Gerardus's dam Ruata is by the Pilot son Iroko. Her other offspring include Vignet (s.Heartbreaker), a Grand Prix jumper under Johnny Pals. Gerardus's granddam Guata, a former 1.30m jumper, is also the dam of the international show jumper Uata (s.Heartbreaker). Her dam Sugata (s.Lucky Boy xx) is the dam of the KWPN stallion Zaire and the granddam of the KWPN stallion Universeel. The dam-line continues with daughters of the Sinaeda son Staalmeester and the Tamboer son Balthazar. Another notable horse out of this dam-line is the Grand Prix jumper Unbelievable (s.Manhattan), ridden by Peter Wylde.

Performance Test Report:
Gerardus is an honest, reliable, and uncomplicated stallion with a very good temperament. He is extremely willing to work, has good to very good trainability, and a good mouth. The walk has more than sufficient scope. The trot has more than sufficient to good scope. The canter is powerful, carried, and has good scope. The stallion moves with good body position and balance. Gerardus jumps with good reflexes and abundant body use. He jumps with good bascule, good front leg form and completes his jump very well behind. He appears careful and shows abundant scope. Gerardus demonstrates abundant to very abundant talent as a jumper and gives his rider a good to very good feeling.

Stable Behavior:
Gerardus is an honest and reliable stallion. He is easy on the ground and quiet in his stall.

Gerardus can improve form, body use, rideability, and willingness in jumper breeding. 

Dam Report:
Ruata is a sufficiently developed, riding-type mare with more than sufficient rectangular-shaped conformation and a downhill body direction.
The head is very attractive with a nice eye.
The poll has good length with a light head-neck connection.
The neck has sufficient length, somewhat horizontal placement, and poor muscling. 
The wither is well developed and has good length.
The shoulder has sufficient length but is slightly straight.
The back has good length and muscling.
The loins have good muscling and are well connected.
The croup is sloped and should be longer. 
The line from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock should be longer.
The front leg is correct.
The hind leg is straight. 
The legs are sufficiently developed and of sufficient quality.
The hooves are sufficiently developed with low heels.
The walk is pure and powerful with good scope.
The mare was sensitive in the trot during the evaluation.
The canter has sufficient scope, good balance, and more than sufficient push.

Gerardus showed a varying collection, more than sufficient developed foals from which some fit well into the rectangular more, there were also some foals judged that were more square. The head is long. The back is occasionally weak and the croup is mostly sloping and should have more length. The walk is correct and more than sufficient in length. The trot is sufficient in power and variable in length and balance. The canter has sufficient length, balance and impulsion.
