Conformation
Nine-year-old Wentworth Ebony is a well-developed large Hackney stallion. The head is nicely shaped and attractive. The stallion has a good poll and a long, well-muscled neck with a nicely rounded crest. The neck is set a bit deep. The shoulder has good placement, and the wither is nicely developed. The topline is weak but well-muscled, and the hindquarters are well connected. The croup has more than sufficient length and good muscling. The legs are good for a nine-year-old horse. The joints are well developed and well shaped. The front leg is correct, and the hooves are well developed. The hind legs are correct. The right front leg is slightly toed-out.
Lineage
Wentworth Ebony is a son of Heldon Mistrel, a full brother of Heldon Expectations. In turn, Heldon Expectations is the sire of Stal Huckriede's multiple-champion Sir John and the show horses Brookfield Hope and Extravagance, both of which are shown successfully by Stal Huckriede. Brookfield Hope is approved by the Dutch Hackney Studbook, as is Forewood One For The Road (s.Heldon Expectations).
Inspection Report
From 2004 - 2010, Wentworth Ebony was shown a total of 19 times, during which he placed 1st twice, 2nd nine times, 3rd four times, and 4th four times. Wentworth Ebony qualified for the honor class based on his performance in England. This year, he was approved by the Dutch Hackney Studbook and won all-around champion. Given his age and sport performance, Wentworth Ebony underwent the abbreviated five-day inspection, the goal of which is to independently evaluate temperament, stable behavior, and health. Wentworth Ebony is an intelligent and reliable stallion who is very willing to work. He drives very well. His walk is clear, sufficiently big, and powerful. In the trot, he shows good body position, elasticity, abundant scope, and high action. Wentworth Ebony bends his hind legs very well, develops abundant power, and shows good suspension.
Stable Behavior
Wentworth Ebony is quiet in his stall and pleasant on the ground.

The Hackney stallion Wentworth Ebony showed a collection of foals with little uniformity or harness type. The foals vary in development but generally have sufficient rectangular-shaped conformation. The front leg action in the trot is insufficient, but the trot generally has sufficient scope. The hind leg does not show sufficient power and steps under the body with varying bend. Neck use varies in the trot but usually leaves much to be desired; the same goes for body use.Wenthworth Ebony is therefore put on hold.
