Conformation
Connaisseur is a very well-developed stallion with good dressage horse conformation and abundant presence. The head is attractive. The poll has good length. The neck has good length, shape, and muscling. The shoulder has good length but is slightly straight. The wither is well developed and has good length. The back has good length and muscling but is slightly dropped. The loins have good muscling and are well connected. The croup has good length, shape, and muscling. The front leg has more than sufficient length and correct conformation. The hind leg is correct. The legs are well developed and of good quality. The hooves are well shaped and well developed.

Lineage
Connaisseur is a son of the prematurely deceased Hanoverian premium stallion Con Amore, a Conteur (Contender x Rasputin) son, out of Pia (Pik Bube I x Wendekreis). Pia is also the full sister of Paragona, the granddam of the Hanoverian stallion Rotspon (s.Rubinstein I). Connaisseur's dam is Donna Clara, a daughter of the influential Grand Prix dressage sire Donnerhall, out of Landfuerstin. This mare is a Hanoverian daughter of Legat (Lanthan x Akzent I), out of Gwenda, a daughter of Grossfuerst out of Kornrade (s.Kurator II).

Connaisseur is an honest and reliable stallion with a good temperament. He is very willing to extremely willing to work and has good to very good trainability. The walk is clear and has good scope. The trot has good scope. The canter is powerful, active, and has good scope. Connaisseur moves with abundant elasticity and good to very good body position and balance. He has abundant to very abundant talent for dressage and gives his rider a very good feeling. 

Stable Behavior
Connaisseur is an honest and reliable stallion. He is easy on the ground and quiet in his stall.

Donna Clara has more than sufficient presence but should be longer-lined and better developed; she is slightly short-legged. The head is attractive with a nice, large eye. The poll is well shaped. The neck has good shape and muscling but comes out deep from the chest. The wither is more than sufficiently developed and long. The shoulder has good length and placement. The back is slightly dropped. The loins are strong with good width and muscling. The croup is sloped and should be longer. The front legs are correct when viewed from the side and the front. The hind leg is correct. The pastern angle is good. The hooves are well developed and have good shape. The heels are low. The legs are tight and of good quality. The walk is clear, with activity and scope. The trot has good scope, and the mare uses her legs remarkably well in the gait. The hind leg is used very well. The canter is active with a good hind leg but needs more scope.

Connaisseur showed a varied collection of foals with moderate to more than sufficient development and sufficient dressage horse conformation. The back is dropped in several foals. The front leg is generally fine-boned and back-at-the-knee. The hind leg is sickle-hocked in several foals. The walk should show more scope and elasticity. The trot has sufficient scope. The hind leg should step through more and carry more. The canter is light-footed and has more than sufficient scope.
