Conformation:

Elton John is a well-developed stallion with more than sufficient rectangular-shaped conformation and a downhill body direction. The head is sufficiently attractive. The poll has sufficient length. The neck has good length, moderate shape, and good muscling. The stallion has an under-neck. The wither has sufficient length and good development. The shoulder has good length and placement. The back has more than sufficient length and good muscling but falls away behind the wither. The loin is a bit tight but more than sufficiently connected. The croup has good placement, length, and muscling. There is more than sufficient length from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock. The front leg is slightly back at the knee when viewed from the side and correct when viewed from the front. The hind leg is correct. The pasterns have sufficient length and are correct. The legs are well-developed and of sufficient quality. The hooves are of good shape and quality.

Lineage:

Elton John, age 5, was entered in the performance test voluntarily. He is by Clearway (s.Capitol) out of Vilotte, who is also the dam of Mischa Everse's promising jumper Blackberry (s.Larino). Vilotte is by Kannan, the sire of multiple successful Grand Prix jumpers. Elton John's granddam Ilotte, a ster prestatie mare by Pilot, produced the KWPN-recognized Grand Prix stallion Plot Blue (rider: Marcus Ehning); the KWPN-approved stallion Oklund; and Oklund's full-sister, a 1.35m-level jumper. Furthermore, Ilotte is the granddam of the KWPN-approved stallion Extase (s.Casall). Elton John's great-granddam Santa Fee is a San Fernando daughter out of the English Thoroughbred mare Wildbeere (s.Vierzehnender xx).

Performance Test Report:

Elton John is an honest and reliable stallion with a good temperament. The stallion is very willing to work, has more than sufficient trainability, and a good mouth. The walk is pure and has more than sufficient scope. The trot has more than sufficient scope. The canter is powerful with sufficient carriage and good scope. The stallion moves with more than sufficient to good carriage and balance. He jumps with more than sufficient to good reflexes. The stallion also jumps with good leg form but has difficulty rocking back, which adversely affects his body use. He appears careful and shows abundant scope. Elton John demonstrates more than sufficient to abundant talent as a jumper and gives his rider a good feeling.

Stable Behavior:

Elton John is an honest and reliable stallion. He is easy on the ground and quiet in his stall.

The legs are clean and tight.

The walk is pure with good scope and sufficient power.

The trot has sufficient scope and shows elasticity.

The canter was not evaluated.

The mare was nursing a foal at the time of inspection and was in very poor condition.
