Performance test report
Conformation:Dylano is a good developed long-lined, very typical harness horse stallion who fits very well in the rectangular model. His head is sufficiently appealing. The poll has a lot of length and the head/neck-connection is light. The neck has a good shape, a lot of length, good muscle and is well-carried. The withers is widely developed. The shoulder is sufficient in length and has a good position. The back is good in length and sufficiently muscled. The loins are well-muscled but a bit tight. The croup is sufficient in length but a bit straight. The front legs are good in length and have a correct stance. The hind legs are a bit long and a bit behind the mass. The cannon approach could be a bit more fluent. The pastern stance is normal and of good length. The hooves are normally developed and good in width. The fundament is hard and lean and well-developed.
Lineage:
Dylano is the second approved son of the large size Hackney stallion Plain’s Liberator. Half-brother Zepplin is only available with frozen semen as the stallion was sold for the carriage driving sport. Plain’s Liberator is approved at the end of 2013. He has a breeding value of 166 (75% reliability) and no less than 14% of his offspring is/will be driven in the harness horse sport. With that he belongs to the top. Well-known competition horses are: Astrid and Zigemma of the Gebr. Kimenai, Barazja C of family Clevering, Castilla BH of Jan Vink, Wervelwind of Lammert Tel, Wodan K of Wim Jansen and Zepplin. The blood of Plain’s Liberator is not prominently present in the harness horse breeding yet. With the view on differentiation in blood this is a positive aspect of Dylano. Dam Nicole star preferent is a, now deceased, daughter of the very influential preferent Fabricius. Seven offspring of Nicole are registered, among which a star mare by Kowalski and a star mare and a second round viewing stallion by Manno. Great-granddam Tessa keur preferent (s.Oran) gave the competition horse Jasper (s.Wilhelmus, 48 points). The dam of Tessa is the multiple Dutch champion breeding mares Odessa keur preferent performance (s.Indiaan), founding dam of the family Voorburg. Approved stallions are Nanno, a full brother to Odessa, and Kowalski (s.Fabricius). Other successful offspring from this dam line are honorary horse Liberty 2nd round viewing (s.Renovo), Scodessa keur preferent sport (s.Nando, 117 points) and Taressa keur sport (s.Manno, 108 points).
Performance test report:
Dylano is an honest, reliable stallion that possesses a lot of allure. The stallion has a lot of willingness to work and is very rideable. The walk is good. In front of the show carriage the stallion has a good to very good use of his body and carries his neck good to very good. Dylano has a lot of knee action with a good reach. The hindlegs bend more than sufficiently and step well under the body. The trot has a lot of suspension. Dylano has a lot of enthusiasm. Dylano has a lot of talent as a harness horse and gives his driver a very good feeling.
Stable behavior:
Honest, reliable stallion, easy to handle and calm in the stable.
Veterinary report:
No peculiarities noted.
Semen examination:
Expected fertility class: good.
Breeding recommendation:
As half-breed Dylano is a very usable stallion with regard to fighting inbreeding. Relative to the average mare population he has a inbred percentage which is clearly lower than average. Dylano is a stallion that can improve development, height, the front and the use of forelegs.
Dam report:
Nicole star preferent (Fabricius x Zakerno)
The mare has passed away.
Breeding value conformation: conformation: 105 / movement: 103 / general impression: 104 (51% reliability) (2014)

Offspring report
Dylano showed a uniform collection of more than sufficiently developed foals with sufficient harness horse type and good rectangular-shaped conformation. The head has good shape and is attractive. The poll has sufficient shape but varies in length. The neck has good length but lacks muscling in the topline. The neck generally has good placement, but several foals have an under-neck. The wither is well developed. The shoulder has good length and placement. The back has good shape and muscling. The loins have good shape and muscling. The croup has sufficient shape but needs more length. The line from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock should be longer. The front leg is correct and has good length, but is slightly fine-boned. The pasterns are long. The hind leg is generally correct but long. The legs are solid and tight, but fine-boned. The hooves have normal shape and are of good quality. The walk is sufficient with respect to scope and elasticity. Front leg use is more than sufficient with respect to action and scope. The hind leg shows more than sufficient bend but should generally step farther and more powerfully under the body. The foals carry the neck well in the trot and come back more than sufficiently in the front end; however, they should "climb" more in the trot. The foals have good suspension and are balanced, but need to collect more.Breeding Recommendation
The breeding recommendation is based on the performance test and the foal inspection. The foals by the Hackney-cross stallion Dylano have sufficient harness horse type, size, and long-lined conformation. Dylano is best bred to mares with a strong hind leg. The stallion is interesting with respect to blood distribution.
Remarks
The collection consisted of 14 foals selected by the KWPN. The foals were evaluated on grass footing. The quality of the dams was average.
Number of mares bred in 2014: 68
