Performance test report
Emerald (van ’t Ruytershof) is a 12-year-old son of Diamant de Semilly out of a mare by Carthago x Lys de Darmen. The stallion has achieved great international success with Harrie Smolders and is a candidate for representing the Netherlands at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. In anticipation of this honor, the stallion was acquired by the N.O.P. Foundation last weekend at Indoor Brabant The combination will also show in the coming World Cup Final in Goteborg. Last year, they won the World Cup competition in Washington and placed high in several Nations Cup competitions and Grands Prix. Emerald comes out of a good dam-line with a number of outstanding close relatives, including his full-sister Diamanthina van ‘t Ruytershof, a Grand Prix jumper. The stallion meets KWPN radiographic requirements.Description of Emerald
Emerald is a well-developed stallion with moderate rectangular-shaped conformation.
The head is attractive.
The poll has good length with a slightly heavy head-neck connection.
The neck has good shape, more than sufficient length, but slightly heavy muscling on the underside.
The wither is well developed and has good length.
The shoulder has good length and placement.
The back is well muscled but a little short.
The loins have very good muscling and are well connected.
The croup has sufficient placement and length with good muscling.
There is very good length from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock.
The front legs are correct when viewed from the side but toed-in when viewed from the front.
The hind leg is a fraction straight.
The pasterns have more than sufficient length but are slightly straight.
The legs are well developed and of more than sufficient quality.
The hooves are sufficiently developed and of sufficient quality, with under-run heels.
The walk has more than sufficient scope and sufficient elasticity.
The trot has moderate scope and elasticity.
