Performance test report

Conformation
Bodyguard is a well-developed stallion with good rectangular-shaped conformation. He should show more nobility. The head is sufficiently attractive. The poll has more than sufficient length. The neck has good shape and sufficient length and muscling. The shoulder has good length and placement. The wither is well developed. The back has good length and sufficient muscling. The loins are well developed and well connected. The croup is lightly sloped, with good length and muscling. The front leg is more than sufficiently long, slightly toed-out, and slightly back at the knee. The hind leg is correct. The legs are well developed and of more than sufficient quality. The hooves are well-developed but slightly small. 

Lineage
Bodyguard's sire, the keur stallion Gribaldi, is currently in the spotlight thanks to several successful offspring, among them Totilas and Sisther de Jeu. Bodyguard's dam is the keur mare Ulinda, whose sire Negro earned the keur predicate this year. Her dam Kolinda is a ster mare by the preferent stallion Cocktail. Bred to TCN Partout, she produced a ZZ-light dressage horse. Bodyguard's great-granddam Gasinda is a keur sport(dres) mare by Formateur, a former small tour competitor. Gasinda is also the dam of a ZZ-light dressage horse by Cocktail. The dam-line continues with a keur sport(dres) mare by Doruto and a keur preferent prestatie mare by Enfant de Normandie. 

Inspection Report
Bodyguard is an honest and reliable stallion with a good temperament. He is very willing to work and has good trainability. The walk is pure and has more than sufficient to good scope. The trot has more than sufficient scope and carriage. The canter is powerful, carried, and has good scope. Bodyguard moves with good body position, balance, and elasticity; and the hind leg steps well under the body. The front leg use is flat. Bodyguard has abundant talent for dressage and gives his riders a good feeling.

Stable Behavior
Bodyguard is an honest and reliable stallion. He is easy on the ground and quiet in his stall.  

Veterinary Report
A pressure point on the back under the saddle area was observed on 7 May 2009. No abnormalities otherwise.

Semen Inspection
Expected fertility class: sufficient.

Breeding Recommendation
Bodyguard can improve the canter. He is best paired with mares with long front legs.

Dam Report
Ulinda is a sufficiently developed mare with good rectangular-shaped conformation. The head is very attractive with a nice, large eye. The poll has good length, and the head-neck connection is light. The neck has good muscling and more than sufficient length. The wither is sufficiently high and long. The shoulder is sufficiently long and slightly straight. The back is slightly dropped. The loins are well muscled. The croup is sloped and has sufficient length with a nice, long buttock muscle. The front leg is correct but slightly short. The hind leg is correct. The pastern angle is good. The hooves are slightly small but have good heels. The legs are good but slightly stocked-up; the mare is in the final stages of pregnancy. The walk has good scope and activity. The trot has good scope and carriage, with abundant elasticity. The canter has good scope and carriage, with abundant push.

In 2004, Ulinda performed the five-week mare test with the following results: walk 7.5 / trot 6.5 / canter 7.5 / dressage talent 7 (x2) / jumping: push 6.5 / form 7 / scope 7 / jumping talent 7 (x2). Total: 70 points.

Performance test scores

Offspring report

A uniform collection of well-developed foals with more than sufficient to good dressage horse conformation. The trot has more than sufficient stride length, and the hind leg is used well. The foals pick up the canter easily and demonstrate more than sufficient stride length and good balance. The foals move with good carriage. Front leg use is flat. 

Breeding Recommendation
The breeding recommendation is based on the performance test and the offspring inspection. Bodyguard is best paired with mares that have good knee action but need a better canter.
