Conformation
Applaus is a well-developed stallion with good jumper conformation. The head is sufficiently attractive. The neck has sufficient length, with more than sufficient shape and muscling. The wither is well developed. The shoulder has good length but is straight. The back has sufficient length and good muscling. The loins are convex. The croup has good placement, length, and muscling. The front legs have more than sufficient length, but the left front leg is slightly toed-in. The hind leg is long. The legs are well developed and of good quality. The hooves are well developed.
Lineage
Applaus is a product of Unistar's (Voltaire x Notaris) first year at stud.
Applaus' dam Matilde is a daughter of the Selle Français stallion Hugo (Grand Veneur x Jasmin). She competed in Z-level show jumping and earned the preferent predicate. Matilde produced 6 offspring (3 colts and 3 fillies), among them 1 ster, 1 third round viewing, and 1 second round viewing. Applaus' granddam Rebecca is a ster preferent mare by the Amor son Gondelier. Rebecca's offspring include the Z2-level dressage horse Focus (s. Aram) and Venessa (s.Gag xx), the dam of Finesse (s.Voltaire). Under Emile Hendrix, Finesse became a sensation in international Grand Prix show jumping. In addition, Rebecca is the granddam of the ZZ-level jumpers Lautrec (s.Silvio I) and Pader Horn (s.Ahorn) and the Z-level jumpers Maja (s.Silvio I), Lea (s.Goodtimes), Mathias V (s.Derrick), and Upstart (s.Indoctro). Rebecca is also the great-granddam of the international Grand Prix jumper Ketel One (s.Burggraaf, rider: Richard Fellers), the international Grand Prix dressage horse and KWPN-approved stallion Kigali (s.Wolfgang, rider: Marlies van Baalen), the national jumpers Hofgraaf (s.Burggraaf) and Jessica (s.Voltaire), and the Z-level jumpers Kandler (s.Ekstein) and Rebell (s.Calvados).
The dam-line continues with Maja, a ster preferent mare by Interim (s.Talisman xx), out of the ster preferent mare Carla. Maja is the granddam of the international Grand Prix jumper Wembley (s.Orlof, rider: Albert Voorn), the Z-level jumper Jamaica (s.Dageraad), and the Z1-level dressage horse Gambia (s.Saros xx). In addition, Maja is the great-granddam of the national show jumpers Santiago (s.Animo), Chanel Z (s.Carthago), and Ultimo (s.Andiamo); and the Z-level jumpers Jeudi (s.G Ramiro-Z) and Tascha (s.Wolfgang).
Inspection Report
Applaus is an honest and reliable stallion with a very good temperament. He has very to very abundant willingness to work and good trainability. The walk is pure and has sufficient to more than sufficient scope. The trot has more than sufficient scope and sufficient carriage. The canter has good scope and power. The stallion moves with good balance. Applaus jumps with good reflexes, form, and body use; and he completes his jumps very well with his hind end. He appears careful and demonstrates very abundant scope. Applaus shows abundant to very abundant talent as a jumper and gives his rider a very good feeling.
Stable Behavior
Applaus is an honest and reliable stallion. He is easy on the ground and quiet in his stall.
