Performance test report
The Stallion Selection Committee for jumpers recently recommended that the Board of Directors grant the Selle Francais stallion Jaguar Mail recognized status for KWPN breeding. The Board of Directors has honored the recommendation.
Jaguar Mail (age 17) is by the English Thoroughbred Hand in Glove xx, out of Elvira Mail by the English Thoroughbred Laudanum xx. Elvira Mail's full-brother Fergar Mail, also known as Chapultepec la Silla, sired the Grand Prix show jumper stallion Lamm de Fetan. Jaguar Mail's granddam Adoret Z, a daughter of the influential jumper sire Almé, produced the Grand Prix stallion Hoggar Mail (s.Hand in Glove xx). Jaguar Mail's great-granddam Goldret is by the Hanoverian foundation stallion Gotthard. With more than 80% English Thoroughbred blood, Jaguar Mail is a very interesting stallion to breed to mares which lack “blood.”
Bred by Haras de Brullemail of France, Jaguar Mail was convincing even as a youngster. As a five-year-old, he placed 7th in the French Championships; and as a six-year-old, he finished 10th in the World Breeding Jumping Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken. Following those achievements, he competed in Grand Prix show jumping for many years under Patrice Delaveau and Sweden's Peter Eriksson. Under Eriksson, Jaguar Mail showed in prestigious competitions, including the 2008 Hong Kong Olympics. France is home to a number of successful young show jumpers and eventers from Jaguar Mail's first years at stud, such as Tenareze, the six-year-old winner in the 2013 World Eventing Championships in Lion d’Angers.
