Conformation Description 1999 (March 18 - May 26)
Osmium is a royally developed riding type stallion of sufficient rectangular model. He has a lot of front, the foreleg is a little under the body and the pastern is a little weak. The heels are low. The hindleg is straight; the left hock should be more refined. He is a little toed-in at front.

Performance
Osmium is an honest, reliable stallion. He is very willing to work and works well
The walk has scope and tact, but should come more from the shoulder. He has sufficient scope in the trot and carries himself. The canter has good scope and balance, and the hindleg goes under the body well. Osmium has a great deal of aptitude for dressage and gives his rider a good feeling.
As a jumper Osmium pushes off more than sufficiently during the take-off. He has good technique of the foreleg, sufficient bascule and he finishes the jump well from behind. Osmium seems careful and shows more than adequate to a great deal of ability. He has more than sufficient aptitude for jumping and gives his rider a more than satisfactory feeling.
Behavior in the stall and during handling is normal.
Veterinary report:
On April 16, 1999, bad thrush appeared on both hind legs. Begin May a general bacterial skin infection showed up. Trough antibiotic therapy the infections were brought under control.

Offspring 2000 (foals)
The collection of Osmium foals was sufficiently uniform and sufficiently riding type. Development ranges from moderate to more than sufficient. The foals are moderately to more than sufficiently in rectangular model and they show refinement. The head is sufficiently expressive. The poll has good length and shape. The neck has sufficient length but is a little vertical and varies in muscling. The wither is well developed and long. The shoulder has good length and position. The back is a little deep. The muscling is sufficient. The loins should be better connected. The croup slopes and should be longer. The muscling of the croup is good. The hamstring is sufficiently long. The foreleg is generally tense. The hindleg is often long and sickle hocked. The legs are fragile. The walk is pure and has sufficient scope. The hindleg is brought underneath actively and sufficiently far, but there should be more carrying power. The canter is generally short. The impulsion is moderate. The foals tense the foreleg and there should be more balance.
The remark must be made that the inspection took place on moderate footing.
One foal that was inspected at home fit in with the rest of the picture.
Veterinary remarks: One foal has a spavin and two others should have a better finished hock.
The quality of the mares was good.
