Performance Ermelo 1984
Impertinent but honest, learns slowly and is sometimes disobedient. He was still green at the start of the test. He has trouble using his neck and poll well. He holds himself through the topline. The use of the poll and neck creates much tension and resistance.
In order to learn to bend he did much extra work in front of the sled and under saddle. During the course of the test he started relaxing more and showed less resistance. He naturally has much stamina. He is not a horse that everyone can get along with.
The walk is variable and stiff and when he tenses he sometimes has a tendency to get lateral. The trot also shows little suppleness, it is powerful but should have more freedom from the shoulder. The canter has scope but he is not light enough on his feet though he does use his hindquarter well. He hollows his back while jumping and has only a moderate bascule. He stays too high in front of the sled. The walk in front of the sled lacks scope, is stiff and he comes insufficiently from the shoulder. He is very maneuverable in driving with good posture and bend. He does well in cross-country. He is more than sufficiently willing to work and finds the work easy. Riding test: often lateral at the walk, strong trot and canter, difficult in transitions, lacks suppleness.
Jumping u.s.: good jumps, should use the back more.
Driving test: more than sufficient performance.
Pulling test: he showed much better during the final exam than during training, he is now relaxed.
Cross-country in harness test: good performance.
He has sufficient talent for dressage and harness. He was in good condition upon arrival and remained that way. He ate normally and was calm in his stall.

Offspring 1993 (foals)
This 12-year old stallion that was exported to the USA after his first breeding season returned in 1992 and this year showed a collection of foals that are sufficiently to well developed and are is sufficient basic type. The head is expressive. The neck has good length, has a good topline and is also carried well. The wither is often a little flat but does have sufficient length. The selected foals had a better developed wither. The shoulder has sufficient length but is often straight. The back is rather long and the loins could be better connected. The croup has sufficient length, is well muscled but looks a little round. The stance of the foreleg is generally good, once in a while a foal is toed out. The stance of the hindleg is good. The legs are well developed and have sufficient quality. The walk is sufficient in scope. The trot also has sufficient scope and power while the foals use their neck well. The majority of the selected foals could bring their hindleg more underneath the body. Two times a deviating knee was noted and one time a straight foot. The quality of the mares was average.

In short: well-developed, sufficient basic type foals with good posture but that should trot with more power.
