Performance test report
Stallion Selection in Zuidlaren, 1971:4th of 4 riding horses; IIB premium. The stallion is a product of a Thoroughbred sire and a dam-line which originated in Holstein and subsequently was paired twice with an old Groningen stallion. The type is excellent. Strong build, well-muscled hindquarters. The legs are of good quality. The stallion could be taller. He was born in late May.
Performance test in Sleen, 1971:
Jasper performed well. He is a good jumper and cross-country horse, but there is a remark regarding his movement. Upon his arrival at the testing center, he showed symptoms of a bacterial skin infection. (Report: Hulsbergen, 1986)
Stallion Selection in Zuidlaren, 1972:
2nd of 4 riding horses; IIA premium. The type is excellent. The stallion should be slightly bigger and show slightly more shoulder freedom in the trot. Saddle class cat I: 5th of 6. Too little forward momentum, slightly short movement.
Stallion Selection in Zuidlaren, 1973:
Saddle class cat I 7th of 8. Walk and trot are good; the canter could be flatter.
Stallion Selection in Zuidlaren, 1974:
Saddle class cat IV 6th of 6. 1974: After the breeding season, the stallion was sold as a jumper.
Approval: Stallion Selection in Zwolle, 1981 (additional testing and retesting).
At the additional testing and retesting in Zwolle, Jasper was approved again for WPN breeding, based on his own performance and that of his offspring. Following the inspection of his offspring in 1974, Jasper was sold as a jumper and achieved international success under the name Little One with Hugo Simon. From 1971 - 1974, he respectively bred 25, 75, 143, and 122 mares. Thirty-eight of the mares he sired are registered in the studbook, and at least six of his offspring are international show jumpers.
