Performance Ermelo 1999

In 1996 D-Day participated in the Neustadt performance test, where he finished in first place for dressage (135.60) and 15th in jumping (100.49). His overall score was 120.83 points, which put him in 6th place. This past show season, D-Day successfully participated in the Stallion dressage competition at Z-Level.



D-Day is an honest, reliable stallion. He is very willing to work and he works well. He gives a very good feeling to his rider.

His walk is pure and has sufficient power. D-Day carries himself well in the trot, has a great deal of suppleness and a noticeable use of the foreleg. He should have a little more power in the hindleg, but he closes well. In the canter he shows a lot of balance, suppleness and a very appealing use of the foreleg.

D-day shows adequate aptitude for jumping. He pushes off sufficiently and has adequate technique, but he jumps a little forward and should bascule a bit more.

Behavior in the stall and during handling is normal.

Offspring report

Report of offspring inspection 1999 (1/27)
D-Day"s offspring are sufficiently developed and stand in sufficient rectangular model with sufficient breeding and charisma. The head has sufficient expression. The poll has good length. The length of the neck is good but the neck is a little deep. The topline has good length and muscling. The wither has good height but should be longer. The shoulder is noticeably good in both length and placement. The shape and muscling of the back and loins are good. The croup has more than sufficient length but is sometimes a little flat. The foreleg has correct stance but it is short. The hindleg is long and sometimes has a weak pastern. The walk has sufficient suppleness and sufficient freedom of the shoulder. The trot varies, so go went well, others should have more freedom in the shoulder and should carry themselves more. The offspring collect well in the trot. The foreleg stays flat in the canter, the hindleg comes underneath sufficiently.
As far as can be detected in the KWPN computer system, the offspring"s dams were generally of moderate quality.
Shown were 6 2-yr olds and 7 3-year olds from the Dressage and Jumping barn "De IJzeren Man" in Weert.

Offspring 2000 (foals)
D-Day showed a sufficiently uniform collection of moderate to more than sufficiently developed, riding type foals. They are in good rectangular model and have sufficient appeal.
The head generally has a convex profile. The poll has sufficient length. The neck has good length and it is shaped and muscled well. The wither is well developed and long. The shoulder has more than sufficient length and varies in placement. The back is more than sufficient in length and muscling. The loins are well connected and muscled. The croup is placed well but should be longer. The muscling of the croup is sufficient. The hamstring is sufficiently long. The foreleg is generally taut. The pastern is long and often straight. Several foals are toed out. The feet are narrow and straight. The stance of the hindleg varies. The legs have moderate to sufficient circumference. The walk is pure, has barely sufficient scope and is stiff. The trot is light and has good scope. The foreleg is used well in the trot and the foals rise sufficiently in the front. The knees turn out in the trot and the foals are narrow in the heels. The foals do not jump into the canter easily and they should be more balanced doing it. They change regularly behind and the croup stays high while they do it.
Veterinary remarks: One of the foals was lame.
