More than sufficiently developed, sufficient Gelders type stallion that stands in good rectangular model. The head is expressive. The neck is horizontal. The loins are poorly muscled. The hindleg is long. The stance of the foreleg is correct. The base is hard and shows quality.

Pedigree information
Upperville was sent to the performance test as a Gelderse stallion. His sire Cabochon (s Vincent) is out of an old fashioned Gelderse mare by Commandant (s Wachtmeester). We particularly know Cabochon as a sire of excellently moving dressage horses. On the dressage index he is in 8th place with 176 points and 87% reliability.
Dam Gecari was reserve champion of the UTV riding type keur mares in 1992 and she competed at ZZ-level dressage. This daughter of Creool also produced the stallion Mister Mastwijk who qualified for the world championships for young dressage horses. Grandmother Recari comes from Formateur (s Polaris) and carries the keur, preferent and prestatie predicates. Recari also produced several good sport horses, including Nepal and Elmshorn. Recari is the grandmother of the Z1-dressage horses Matcho (s Glendale) and Picari (s Vincent); of the Z2-dressage horses Ocari (s Jacardo) and Odomingo (s Iglesias); and of the M1-dressage horse Jacari (s Daimler); of the M-jumper K (s Elmshorn) and of the national jumper Herocari (s Consul). Behind her we find the kroon preferent mare Ecari (s Wachtmeester). Ecari is the grandmother of the M-jumper Gionda (s Onyx). Amongst others she is also the great grandmother of the M-jumpers Gecari (s Zevenaar) and Heike (s Blanc Rivage xx) and the Z1-dressage horse Ivo (s Vergilius).

Performance
Upperville is an honest and dependable stallion. The stallion has more than sufficient willingness to work and works more than sufficiently.
The walk is pure, has more than sufficient scope and more than sufficient suppleness. The trot has sufficient scope with sufficient suppleness. The canter has more than sufficient scope and suppleness. The stallion should bring the hindleg underneath with more power in all three gaits. As a Gelderlander Upperville has more than sufficient talent for dressage and gives his rider a sufficient feeling.
Upperville jumps with a moderate take-off. The foreleg folds well. The stallion should bascule better. The hindquarter opens moderately. Upperville appears to be careful and shows sufficient scope. Upperville has sufficient talent for jumping and gives his rider a sufficient feeling.
Upperville shows more than sufficient willingness for harness work. He has a balanced and dependable attitude with sufficient enthusiasm. The walk is pure and scopey. The trot has good scope and more than sufficient self-carriage. In the canter has good scope and much impulsion. Upperville has more than sufficient self-carriage and is very maneuverable. The overall picture as a harnessed horse is good.
The stallion is calm in his stall and he is easy to handle.
No veterinary remarks.

Upperville appears to fit old fashioned mares that have little length in the body. The stallion can contribute in refining Gelders mares that tend too close toward the harness type. Mares must have much front and self-carriage.
