Genetic profile

The breeding values have been estimated using information from sport, inspections and talent tests and in addition the available DNA profiles (genotypes).
The DNA profile of the horse itself is included here.
The breeding values are presented relative to the breeding direction jumping.
An average KWPN show jumper has a show jumping breeding value between 80 and 120.

Performance test report

Lineage:
Nickelson VDL the second KWPN-approved son of Cohinoor VDL that features Cornet Obolensky, Stakkato and Contender in his top pedigree. Cohinoor VDL draws attention via good results of his offspring at inspections, and he performs at international 1.45m level in sport himself. 
Nickelson VDL comes out of a damline, the Sarkilly line, that is known for its strong results at inspections and selection events and good sport horses. Dam Hakilly D Z is a keur IBOP (spr) daughter of Harley VDL. Hakilly D Z received 80 points for conformation at the mare inspections and 85 points for free jumping, excelling in her canter and scope. Her son Martini VDL (s.Zapatero VDL) was crowned champion of the stallion show Neustadt-Dosse. This damline continues via the keur IBOP (spr) mare Akilly D by the keur stallion Calvados and the preferent stallion Libero H. The pairing of the ster preferent greatgranddam Takilly (s.Libero H) and Mr. Blue resulted in the appointed stallion Friend Blue Boy D and the international 1.35m showjumpers G. Bleu Boy D and MR Blue Boy. Further along the lineage we find the stallions Damiro, Farn and Artillieur. This damline also produced the Grand Prix-jumper Zargo Z of Emile Hendrix. 

Performance test report:
Nickelson VDL is a reliable and easy to ride stallion with a good attitude. In the early stages of the test, the stallion was eager to jump and showed fleeting behaviour. This improved during the performance test. The stallion has a lot of willingness to work and is very trainable. The walk is more than sufficient in scope and elasticity. The trot is sufficient in scope and more than sufficiently powerful. In movement, the stallion shows more than sufficient to good posture and balance. The canter is active with more than sufficient to good scope and bend in the hind leg, a good balance with very good lead changes. Nickelson VDL jumps more than sufficiently to good in an upward direction, with good reflexes and abundant body-use. Nickelson VDL jumps with a good technique in his legs. Nickelson VDL appears to be careful and displays more than sufficient to abundant athletic ability and overview. As a jumper horse, Nickelson VDL has a lot of talent and he gives his rider a good feeling. 

Stable behaviour:
Honest, reliable stallion, easy to handle and calm in the stable.

Breeding & pairing recommendation:
Nickelson VDL can improve jumper quality and particularly the reflexes in jumper breeding.
